As a frequent patron of Dugout 54 and the Open Jam they host on Sunday evenings, I have to say I have been extremely impressed with the level of service, profesionalism, respect and courtesy the management and staff provide. Unfortunately I cannot say the same for some of the other clientelle. Dugout 54 hosts one of, if not THE most successful open jams in the area. The house band is phenomenal and all of the musicians that show up are treated fairly and with respect, regardless of experience, or ability. Some people feel they should be given superior treatment for, well, who knows why really other than the fact that they are immature, egotistical, narcisistic neanderthals. I was present when this particular "gentleman" was supposedly berated by an angry, irrational host. Let me assure you, this was certainly NOT the case. This gentleman was not ASKED to play, he attended the open jam, and just like anyone else, HE requested to play. So no, of course he was not being compensated to play, do customers get paid to sing karaoke? He was not there to "teach" anyone anything, but rather requested to play a song that no one was familiar with. If it were a simple song as he claims, and he explained the format properly, the PROFESSIONAL musicians on the stage would have been able to play it as they do a multitude of other songs they're unfamiliar with. When HE couldn't explain what it was that he wanted, he chose to insult and belittle the other musicians, which in and of itself would be disrespectful enough but he did so OVER THE MICROPHONE! After completing the song he chose to play instead, the host then went to the stage, and advised him to appologize to the musicians for such rude behavior. His version of an appology was to say "I'm sorry you couldn't play the song". The host again asked him to appologize but as he continued to insult the musicians and now the host, the mic was turned off. There was no encouraging the crowd to boo him, in fact there was cheering when the host asked for an appology. You are correct, sir, it was NOT fun or entertainment. Everyone is there for the same purpose, to play music, enjoy some commeraderie, and have a good time. Until now, everyone has always been respectful of one another. When you take out simple common courtesy, it ceases to be enjoyable for anyone. What reflects on their business is the fact that the type of behavior YOU displayed is not tolerated. All of this absurdity aside, I have always had superb service at Dugout 54. The bar staff is friendly, drinks are fairly made and fairly priced. They provide a diverse menu and so far everything I've tried has been excellent! I will continue to frequent Dugout as well as the Open Jam, every Sunday night...
Read moreSo glad we went in here for the first time last night. Diverse crowd of people and upon being in there you immediately understand why... it's because they make you feel important no matter who you are. The waitress was all smiles and super friendly and attentive the entire night. She was very detailed with our order and making it exactly to what we wanted... I've never been in a place that asks you how do you want your patty melt?.. um oh! We get a choice?! Wow! I requested cheese sauce for my fries and that was the best I've ever tasted. The cheese sauce for the tater kegs was amazing too. They were very specific on how I wanted my whiskey lemonade also... never been asked so many detailed questions when I go other places. So service was the best ever! Food tasted fresh and was made so fast. They played a game where you get a raffle ticket with every drink purchased and they call out numbers and you get prizes. We got 2 nice NFL beer glasses! I loved the vibe. The bar tender even came out and asked us if we needed anything else... what bar tender comes out from behind the bar to check on you?! Amazing! But we told him no our waitress was taking care of us very well. Loved this place! I was having a bad day before I went in this bar and they changed my...
Read moreCame here with my pub pass to try something new. Was very impressed. Was a Monday night, so not busy, though they still had a good crowd, and people eating at the bar. Also some kids playing darts in the back making it a real inclusive place for everyone. Driving up they were doing some exterior repairs which made the place look a bit divey, though walking in I was taken aback by the granite counters, nice bar stools, and a nice touch of dark oak to match the Irish theme. They also had the windows (garage doors) open since it was a nice night. Was more sports bar than Irish pub though TVs weren't over powering. What was is the beer selection, with 32 taps! I also liked they had music on, but you could still hear each other. Bartender was great, friendly and responsive. I got the Monday special cheese curds, they were amazing. I also got the Irish Burger which was plenty big, though a bit overcooked. I ordered medium-rare and it came out well done. Didn't really care, as it was still great for bar food. Great to see...
