This particular DQ is by far, consistently the worst I have ever experienced. I'm a big fan of the DQ Blizzard. To be a great Blizzard, it has to be blended well, but not over blended. It has to have ample candy throughout and should be nice and cold. It should have COLD, thick soft serve with bits of candy SUSPENDED in it, not warm, half melted ice cream that has been blended to the point where the candy is pulverized into a fine powder. The Blizzards at this location are consistently over blended on the top and under blended at the bottom. When I order an Oreo flavor, what I receive is over blended, grey ice cream on top, with the last half pure white soft serve with nothing in it.
There is no fine line with Blizzards at this location...they are either blended within an inch of their lives, or not at all. They turn them upside down when they are presented to the customer, but that does not mean they are the proper temperature, especially down towards the bottom of the cup where you can't see. Every time I get one to go, I have to put them in my freezer for an hour when I get home and I only live 10 minutes away. I purchased a Pumpkin Pie Blizzard this evening and asked for extra pie crust. I was charged for extra candy, but didn't receive it. On top of that, it had no whip cream or nutmeg on top and was flavorless with the last half of the cup being pure white soft serve. I ate about 25% of it and decided I wanted to see how much crust was put it. I scooped the contents into a screen strainer and waited for it to melt. The result was 12 pieces of crust. I'm sure a little was lost to the melting process, but this result was still unacceptable for a desert that cost nearly $6.
As for service, it's hardly ever friendly and often times my family and I are treated as if we are an inconvenience rather than a customer. Needless to say this was my family's last DQ purchase at this location. Funny, 30 miles down the road the Blizzards at the Carson City location are perfect every time and the service is great. It all comes down to the store owner; how much they care about doing things RIGHT to meet DQ standards and how they train their employees. The way an employee prepares the product and how they treat the customer is a direct reflection of the owner. I work in retail sales and if this was my store, I would be making some...
Read moreIf it wasn't for the girl at the drive up window, I would of left and not ever come back!!! As we were going through the drive through we ordered 3 small frys and 2 sundays. I ordered a banana split. I got told from the guy taking our order that they had no bananas. I was really bummed because I just drove from another town to specially to get one. So I ordered another Sunday instead. As we drove up to pay, by the way the prices have increased significantly! I told the girl at the window that I was very disappointed in prices and not having any bananas. She was like what, we do too have them. She turned to the guy that took my order and said, did you tell her we didn't have bananas? He sounded so ridiculous trying to make up excuses why he said that. The sweet girl made my day as she made one for me!!! I called her a angel. She made a wonderful one!! She is truly there for the customers, unfortunately the laziness of the guy, surely doesn't care about the business factor. She definitely needs a raise and he should be ashamed...
Read moreThe manager just doesn't care about this place. They have machines broken down for months. They are always running out of ingredients. There is a 50/50 chance you won't get what you went there for. This is the most ridiculous business I've ever seen.
I love their Mocha Moolattes. Their slushy machine has been broken down for 5 months or 6 months. I called, they told me it's fixed. I go down there and they can't make a Moolatte because they're out of coffee! Do I have to go over every ingredient so as not to make a wasted trip?
All this makes it hard on the employees because they get blamed for broken equipment or out of stock ingredients. It's not their fault. The manager is supposed to be on top of that stuff. So please don't yell or be rude to the employees. I just smile and say I'll check back.
Get it together Dairy Queen! I really want my mocha...
