If you’re planning on staying here, it’s only because you ran out of better options. |Much better options. A tent might be a better option. ||Is this a Quality Inn? Maybe, if you’re in an alternative universe. ||I don’t know what’s going on with this place. The property management sincerely believes guests won’t notice what hasn’t been repaired, probably in several years. Perhaps they are strongly hoping that you might assume it’s a temporary condition of the property. It’s not.||I took the ice bucket from the room and walked over to the laundry/ icemaker utility room. All of the appliances in the room were unplugged and disconnected several years ago. There are no soda/snacks vending machines for guests. ||Welcome to the Quality Inn in Minden, Nevada on Friday, April 25th at 3:00 check in time. |The reservations were prepaid the night before. The weather report on Wednesday in South Lake Tahoe mentioned a snow shower in the Reno-Tahoe area on Friday night. We opted to wait and see, regarding the impending storm and go back to the bay area on Sunday instead of Friday. This place was the cheapest option. We would decide later what to do, depending on the weather. |We’ve stayed at some Quality Inn locations that were absolutely wonderful. |Let’s just say this place is in a category of its own, and not in the "W" column.||I was behind another customer checking in and making payment. The front desk person advised her that if she paid in cash, he would give her a discount. She tells him that she does not carry that much money. It seemed like an odd request from the hotel attendant. ||As I’m waiting, I made observations about the front desk area. |ALL of the chairs are stacked up in the breakfast area. All of the familiar breakfast station areas were unplugged, same for the coffee station.|The breakfast area is closed. There’s a yellowed, curled paper sign stating that there is no Wi-Fi. It’s an easy assumption that it’s been that way for several years. |The back office was stuffed with linens and towels that looked like they were jammed in there for a holding area for cleaning.||I made note of the conversation between the customer ahead of me to determine what was the actual “Quality” of this “Quality” Inn. Limited housekeeping. From what I can see, not much else. My hope is that the room has heat. The person at the front desk had a thick accent. ||I gave the attendant the reservation no. and requested a downstairs room, possibly an ADA type for my husband’s needs. I was informed that there was temporarily NO breakfast (Again, it looks like it’s been “TEMPORARY” for a long time). IF I needed the room for more than one night’s stay, they requested that I inform them early in the morning, as the housekeepers quit. I was also told the front desk is only open for limited hours, check-in and check-out times.||The room was mostly acceptable. The space heater worked, but emitted a high-pitched whine on a bearing as it cycled up and down. The room had two floor lamps placed near the beds instead of wall lamps. The swing bar locks were missing from the door. We did have clean linens, enough towels, and the ice bucket had a clean plastic bag to use for ice with cups. That was when I went to get ice and discovered what condition the hotel was in. Each set of stairs to the upper rooms were boarded up with plywood marked with red spray paint. |I take it that they don’t want people to go up there. I’ve never seen that before. ||We went next door to Louie’s Mandarin Chinese restaurant (Go there- it’s excellent!). We had a conversation with the server concerning the hotel. The Douglas County Health Department had closed the hotel for six weeks, and it reopened in late March. I asked her what happened, she wasn’t sure, but it's been in bad shape for a long time. She was happy to oblige me with a request for some ice to take back to the room.||IF you have NO other options around Minden/Gardnerville for lodging for the night, this might be okay for ONE night before moving on. Don't push your luck. I wouldn’t recommend it for more than that. Move on. We did have a working microwave and refrigerator, so I was able to make some coffee with my drip pour maker to get myself going. The shower was probably the best part of the room, with excellent shower pressure and warm water. There’s teeny tiny soaps in the room, postage stamp size. |Helpful Knowledge: There’s a Dollar Tree nearby, within walking distance at the Ironwood shopping center. With the lack of what you normally expect at a standard Quality Inn, you can pick up any items (like a box of tissues, in our case) you might need for the duration of your stay. Trust me, you’ll use it. ||When I checked out, there was a blank building inspection report taped to the entry door for the front desk. I don’t know if that was there the day before. ||I can’t guarantee that this place will still be in operation on your trip into Minden/Gardnerville. Later, I did some research regarding the hotel. The upper floors are closed due to crumbling balcony walkways. Should the place be condemned? That’s not for me to decide, but I wouldn’t be surprised if that is the likely eventuality of this place. Someone else needs to take over this property. |It’s not a great reflection...

This is a severe medical and mental health crisis. I accidentally shot myself 9 times in the chest. I also just fell two stories in my shock, and just got run over when I was crawling on the street. My organs are now visible and gushing out of my penis wound. I can see my brain poking out by looking in a mirror. I am crying blood from all the pain. I have severe injuries to my body. I put a firecracker in my foreskin and now have a bloody hole with maggots, which I also put Sprite, vomit, and poop into. I am also uncontrollably digging into this wound, and I am eating flesh gushing from it, and I'm seeing sperm gush from my leg wounds. I've cut off both my legs in shock, and there's poop in those wounds, and I'm uncontrollably expelling and vomiting poop. I am currently stuck in my toilet because I have no legs, and I am hanging from my ceiling fan with a rope around my neck. I am in Kingsbury, Nevada, at [Your Full Address or Closest Cross Street]. I am feeling very weak and losing consciousness. I need help right now." How to Contact Them, Even When Weak: TEXT 911: If you are too weak to speak, text this entire message to 911. Read moreThings started out pretty good upon arrival...the first evening the ac/heater unit wouldn't work so we had to have the front desk lady come to our room. She had to place a chip of some sort into a light switch to get it working. The tv in the room is a box unit (old style) the screen flipped making it unwatchable until my husband adjusted the wires and cable boxes. Two remotes are needed to work the tv, one to turn it on, the other to adjust the volume and change channels. Shortly after having the ac/heater working we heard dripping noises...the faucet in the bathroom was what we found out to be just one of the issues. The ac/heater was dripping water as well and continued to do so for the 9 day stay here. Front desk was notified but never actually checked out the problem neither did maintenance as we had the chance to talk with her as well. The ac/heater unit also allows rain to come in drenching the carpet in about a 2 foot area around the unit. Two of the reasons we chose this motel was...a blow dryer (I hate having to pack one for travel) and the onsite laundry...which later I found out that I needed to request a blow dryer...on site laundry doesn't exist as the laundry room only contains an ice machine and the dispenser for laundry supplies. Front desk informed another guest that if the maids have time they might do the laundry. Mirror on the wall was never cleaned. We had to ask at one point to have our room cleaned. A few days later one of the maids (Misty) asked my husband if we'd like to have our room cleaned. He told her yes...upon our return it was not done. Had to go to the front desk for clean towels at 10:30 pm. In room coffee...lol they had several reasons why they ran out, even blaming the owners that they said had a don't care attitude about the property. People who don't even work there come and have breakfast on the motel. Some of the people who work there have breakfast only to end up in nonused rooms on their cell phones. The place is really lacking in authority. Our room was paid for in advance ( 5 months ) only to end up being charged to our card a second time. When calling and requesting to speak with the manager Misty (she only works from 9 to 3) she wouldn't return my call and passed the buck to another employee to take care of the issue she herself created. Very unprofessional as far as I am concerned. I have managed motels in the past and this plave could use so good help. The girls said they only make $8.50 an hour as the reason people are so laxed with their jobs...the photos the show on their website...if one of those rooms exists we would have loved to at least see one. Room #131 could use some updates. Torn carpet, chipping paint just to name a couple issues. Tried my best to post positive photos after all some of the employees care...
