Taqueria El Patron — Restaurant in Minneapolis

I go here for lunch every week or two. I mostly stick to the tortas and tacos and have been happy every time. The milanesa torta today was especially solid.

It gets pretty busy at lunch but there are always tables available (especially on the nice covered patio). The lunch crowd also seems to stick to the tacos or alambres; I'll have to try to the latter at some point. Service is always friendly and fast.

Reading other reviews, there seem to be a lot of complaints about the birria tacos. Can't speak to those as it's not really my thing, but I think you'll be happy with...

We decided to check this authentic Mexican restaurant out. My sisters in law had tacos, burrito, and enchillada, which they said were "ok". I had the chicken quasedilla with chips and guac. The menu said it had lettuce, cheese, and sour cream, but mine had none of those. The chicken was wet, definitely not grilled like I have had in the past. The person at the counter (where we ordered) was nice, but the food was not great. They are super busy, so obviously, it was just what we ordered. I don't like to give critical reviews, but they won't know unless...

They had a food truck located in the common mpls on 6/20. Ordered the birria tacos and they were so bland. I asked for a refund and the lady at the truck was so rude and said they don’t do refunds. No where on the truck does it state no refunds. The lady called her manager and he stated they don’t even do refunds at the actual store. How are you a business and don’t offer refunds to those that are not satisfied? This use to be one of my favorite spots and now it’s disgusting! Food is disgusting and their attitude...
