China Star Buffet — Restaurant in Minnesota

Visited on 01/08/2023 Delicious food! Everything I tried in the buffet was good.

As a former restaurant owner and google food reviewer, I can comfortably say that these guys are making sure their food is quality and they have the passion required to make tasty food! They also have what is required to run their in the fron of hte house.

One of the very few restaurants good reastaurants in the White Park, Saint Cloud and surrounding areas! Not many Chinese buffet restaurants in these area are good, but China Star's kitchen is definitelly putting great effort in their quality and seasoning in their dishes; I can taste the delicious spices in every dish. The fried items are cooked perfectly, nothing burned or overcooked, and even the deserts are fresh and enjoyable!

Also, the meat in their items is not rubber or poorly cleaned, I was able to focus on the flavor and textures without worring about rubber I had to spit out into the napkins, these guys actually care about the quality and prep of their food!

The staff is friendly and attentive to the client's needs. The restrooms aren't beautiful but they where clean and did not stink. It was an enjoyable and refreshing experience all around!

The only reason I did not give them a 5 star is because I eat in a lot of restaurants in many different states and I review them so I am very strict, to get a 5 star from me is hard. I have seen amaizing luxury buffets with enormous selection of items included like hibachi grills inside, stir fry's on demand with items of choice, and even sushi included in buffets. However! In their deffense, this is a Chinese buffet with a decent selection of quality tasty items, and it is not a world or Asian buffet, they aren't mixing dishes from other countries.

If these guys keep up the good work with their flavoring, the quality, and keep innovating in their menu and buffet items, they will continue growing and their success will go as far as they want. Thumbs up from me on this one! I definitely...

I have been a long time patron of China Star Buffet. It was my favorite place to go in my teen years with friends, before I moved away. Now that I am back in the area, it is our go to place for Chinese.

It's like any other buffet where the food is at it's peak when it is busy, but even during their down times they make every attempt to continue to provide deliciously fresh made hot foods.

The green beans and the coconut shrimp are my absolute favorite. The sesame ball things, when put out are the one thing I cannot get enough. It is so unassuming but the red bean paste inside is so yummy!!

My kids love it here too. The lo mein and fruit are always a hit with them. They had a blue jello last time that me and the younger kids loved. My picky eater loves their white rice, chicken on a stick, and the dim sum.

For a family of six (3 adults, two kids under 3 and a baby) we paid just shy of $75 and for a buffet this size? We feel that is reasonable and that is with drinks!

China Star also recently remodeled and it is such a great remodel! The old look was very 80s 90s home like buffet and the new look is chic. It's not corporate boring but nice Chinese date night good. The bathrooms have stall doors that go down to the floor with no cracks to look through and we're clean the last time we were in.

The staff was super friendly and stopped by the table often to clear plates and fill drinks. They asked how things tasted.

I also think it is so smart to keep the plates under the buffet. I found them right away, but it took my eldest a second to find them.

The ice cream (soft serve really) machine was clean and the cones crunchy.

We would definitely be back to enjoy the scrumptious food and...

Spring 2013, Rice, MN; was where and when I first met this fine, sexy and beautiful young lady named Lauretta. Our relationship didn't start out like most relationships do. We started out as if we'd already been together for quite sometime. But, it wasn't until mid-summer of 2013 that we finally went out on our "first official date". We decided on a bite to eat at the "China Star Buffet", in Waite Park, being our destination. Netheir one of us had ever been there before so we decided to give it a shot. Not knowing what to expect, I must admit that we was pretty impressed with our first visit. We also liked that they had a wide variety to choose from with some spicy dishes as well. Now it's Jan, 2023, Lauretta and I are still very much In Love and happily married, since July 2014. We also felt very comfortable and at ease with the friendly atmosphere. The service and staff were very professional and friendly. We stop in about 2-3 times every other month or so! We would highly and happily recommend this fine establishment to anyone that asks for a good place to eat in the St. Cloud area. Along with the fond memory from our "first official date", we also enjoy the great food that "China Star Buffet" has to offer. Excellent food, great memories!!
