Today, my friend and I went to Taco Feliz for Taco Tuesday. When we entered the restaurant, my friend stopped to take a look at the menu posted by the door. Being the refined taco connoisseur that I am, I already knew exactly what I wanted, no menu required. Four carne asada street tacos with cilantro and onions is the only way to go. Of course, I get some salsa on the side as well.
I step up to the counter to place my order. This is my moment...my time to shine. After a long day of work, I cannot wait for my four tacos. The carne asada with the cilantro...and don't forget about the onions. Ah yes, the onions. All four of them lined up in a neat row with a small cup of salsa on the side...perfection.
The words roll off my tongue as I place my order. "I'm sorry Sir, we are all out of tacos," says the lady behind the counter. For a second, it didn't even register in my brain...and then it hit me. Crestfallen, I started the long walk back to the entrance so I could read the menu like all the other people who didn't know what they wanted. This must have been how Frodo felt when he realized he had to leave The Shire and begin the long journey to Mordor to destroy the ring. A couple steps into my lonely journey, the lady behind the counter says, "Just kidding!".
Great restaurant, great food, great staff. 5 stars for the tacos and 5 stars...
Read moreI’ll start my review off by saying that there aren’t many good Mexican food places in Minot, but this place was kind of like A favorite stepchild. At this point they are clearly not trying, probably because people keep giving them money. My previous experience, which will probably be my last, was quite a waste of time and money.
First off, I bought my wife and myself dinner and it cost almost $60. Which I would be fine with if the food was good. I should also mention it was takeout and not dine in. I ordered shrimp tacos, a chicken quesadilla and a molcate burrito.
I’ll start with the shrimp tacos. Those shrimp tacos were by far the worst I’ve ever had. They were literally three wet tortillas with four tiny shrimps, and NOTHING else. They were roughly 4 dollars apiece, and a complete waste of my taste buds.
Next was the Molcate Burrito which weighed about 3 pounds. 2.5 pounds of rice and .5 pounds of liquid and a small scrap of chicken.
The quesadilla wasn’t bad though. Nothing great, just a little bit of chicken with some cheese in a tortilla cut into pizza slices. Slightly edible.
I would highly recommend never going to this restaurant if you care about your money or your time. That goes for pretty much any Mexican restaurant in Minot. You are better off sticking with burgers or pizza. Good luck and...

Being the second taco joint I've visited in Minot North Dakota, it is likely to be difficult to beat.
Pros
Amazing service, with smiles and haste and concern for my happiness. Very clean and beautiful facility inside. The property must have been an old Hardee's or something but inside you would never know. Woman customer comes in. First words "it smells good in here" the reply from behind the counter "always does". Great variety of very well spiced and cooked meats. I tried 3, steak, grilled chicken and the pulled pork, no regrets other than the remaining meats I'm unable to try this time! The beans and rice were both very well made and had no resemblance of being canned. Queso is on point! Hot and cool salsas are both very good and the contrast between the two is huge. 3 home made drinks back there non alcoholic, didn't try but I'm sure they're delicious. Good, fast, not cheap, comparable to any sit down.
Cons No free chips and salsa, I didn't try them but I'm sure they're worth the $4 price tag. Limited alcohol menu. Pop music on the radio.
Not the best tacos I've had but very close and in the top 10.
Holds the #1 slot in minot. For now.
Thanks for the...
