updated Owner Kris left a response so I called the shop this morning. Sunday I was told her name was âChrissyâ so I asked for âChrissyâ and I was corrected that her name is Kris and she wasnât in. I called just now hours later and she is still not in. I appreciated the response but after being corrected on your name in a less than a friendly tone my star rating stands. BTW Iâm pretty sure the 2nd time I called the same sullen employee answered. Coffee shops are a dime dozen you might want to step up the customer service.
I did not get a chance to taste the food or experience the atmosphere as James the clerk so haughtily told me I didnât need what I came in seeking. I came up from San Diego in order to get a gift card for someone who lives near by the shop. I asked a very sullen James who was behind a register for a $30 gift card. He personified spoiled, indulged rebellious teenager but nonetheless heâs an employee there. I donât know what he was doing but he was fiddling with some cash and a line was forming behind me. A very tattooed young girl wearing a large nose ring came over to work the other register and James told me he was too busy to help me and I should go to the other register so I asked the young girl for the gift card. She wasnât sure how to do it and James was no help at all. After she rang up the card the second time it charged tax. You donât pay tax on a gift and she asked the sullen James if that were true and he told me to my face one pays tax on a gift card (people you know this is not correct). They were doing something wrong and it was then James told me âyou don't need a gift card and youâre not getting oneâ gave me a dirty look and walked away. Essentially insinuating that I leave. I asked for the Manager but âChrissyâ was not there (it was 3:30pm Sunday 3-DEC). Apparently they do not need my business at that coffee shop. Trust me I will never go there again and would never...
Read moreCame here on a Sunday for the first time and enjoyed my Breakfast: Service: 9/10 really nice manager- maybe owner walked us through the menu and helped us order the best pastries and coffee beverages. Some guy took one of our coffees so had to wait to get the second. Pastry/Croissant: 10/10 got a doughnut, desert toaster pastry, and an Almond Croissant. All were fantastic and they heated them up first to perfection. Egg/Omelette: 9/10 got a breakfast burrito with egg potato, cheese and spinach. It was on the smaller side but was delicious. Coffee: 9/10 got a Latte and it tasted perfect the only thing Iâd change is since I was dining in, would have liked it in a cozy mug Vs a to go cup Location: 9/10 easy to find and park in Mission Viejo. Ambience/View: 8/10 cute inside with some subtle music playing. A couple small tables outside but would be very close to the parking lot and no views outside. Menu: 9/10 great choices for some simple breakfast and pastry items. Customized the coffee with almond or oat milk and plenty of great beverages. Price: 10/10 very reasonable pricing on the lower end and would be a place you could go...
Read moreI used to be a regular customer of this place under the old management, and when the name was "It's a Grind." Today I stopped by to check the the place out under the new management and... It looks good. And these were happened: they asked for my name during the order process. However, they didn't announce my name with my order, and I had to play the guessing game to find out if the order belonged to me. When I was picking up my order I thanked the two girls who were prepping the orders, and out of the two, only one barely had eye contact with me with no reply or feedback; the "hot latte" was quite warm and tasted like warm milk with a hint of coffee. These were reasons I never go to any franchise coffee places and try to explore and support local shops instead. However, I believe I wasn't a lucky customer for that day, and this place will deserve...
