China Bistro — Restaurant in Mississippi

I’d tried this restaurant once a while back and thought the food was okay and the portions small. I was craving Chinese food today so I thought I’d try it again as there aren’t any good Chinese restaurants in Ocean Springs. Well that was a mistake. I ordered Happy Family and the menu said it was $10.75 and extra for fried rice instead of white. I think that was $1 extra. With tax that should be $12.80. I was charged $16.04. I didn’t pay attention until I got home and the receipt did not have a breakdown. The fried rice was not very good, a bit of a burnt flavor to it. The Happy Family Meal was okay, but the beef in it was inedible, tough and chewy like shoe leather, impossible to eat. It did however meet the standards of my dog. My biggest complaint is that they close much too early. We always have to rush to go there. We enjoy eating later. Since we've been going the owner has shortened the hours a few times which is even worse. The lady who serves us is quite pungent in her character. I love the fact that she so.adores cats. We were coming from the vet & we had our kitty in the kennel. She was thrilled. The won ton soup egg rolls & pork fried rice are amazing. The rice has a smoky flavor which we enjoy. We've tried some spicy meat dishes as well that were good. All in all we really enjoy the food here. I do find it pricy but it's good.We would definitely go more often if it...

During the pandemic I am traveling back and forth across the country driving for essential health services. It is very difficult to find good food, when I am not making it myself. I ordered Kung Pao Chicken, which I have eaten about 4 bazillion times and order every time I go to a Chinese restaurant, was super fresh and definitely top 3 of all time I have had in my life. Excellent rice and sauces to add complimentary. Then add the excellent service, food prepared quickly, and clean safe environment to pick up.
