We have been going to the Hattiesburg location for months and decided to try the OS location. Well I hate to go against the popular opinion, but Indian Delight Ocean Springs really needs to hire more staff to save the current staff from being burned out and as a result be disrespectful and abusive towards their customers. We went for lunch on Thursday and the whole experience took about 3 hours (which we were completely ok with). The appetizers were good but one of our entrees, Lamb Roghan was catastrophically salty. We made the mistake of informing this to Mr. Savio who became extremely disrespectful towards us. I tried to inform him that we just want to let him know and didn’t want anything comped. We also showed him that the entree was untouched as it was inedible. What was most hurtful and abusive was when Savio said to us that you Desis (a word to describe people from India or Pakistan) are the only ones who keep coming up with bogus complaints to get stuff for free. He said he never gets any complaints from anyone else but Desi people. We have met Savio at the Indian Delight Hattiesburg on many occasions and we were shocked to see this ugly side of his as he has always been very pleasant. To show him that it was our sincere feedback, we still paid for the inedible entree but Savio kept complaining about how Desi people make his job difficult. He also told us that he hates dealing with Desis and angrily told us of a time when a Desi called the cops in Hattiesburg due to some issue with the order. He was speaking so angrily that sometimes he was not making much sense (just like the cop calling incident which made little sense). We let Savio rant and abuse us and paid our bill and left. We decided to not respond to Savio as we did not want the situation to escalate at the moment as he was very upset and disrespectful. Again, my sincere feedback to Indian Delight Ocean Springs would be to make sure that their staff is receptive to constructive criticism and more importantly, to make sure to treat everyone with respect, regardless of their ethnic...
Read moreI am really impressed with this restaurant. I love Indian cuisine, Middle Eastern, Pakastani, Greek, Mediterranean, Nepalese and Asian Cuisine. Indian cuisine is typically vegetarian or maybe fish and chicken, but this restaurant really expands its menu to incorporate other cuisine and culture that blends well with Indian dishes. This restaurant really has an impressive selection of dishes, and Im really a huge fan of the various Nepalese goat curry dishes
So far my favorite thing they have is the Pesto Nann and Curry... I could and have literally eaten that until I fall into a food coma... It's hard to stop. But there's just so much more.
You know, additionally, there's a lot of fine attention to detail in this restaurant. For example, they have sink vanities in each restroom, but there is also a sink vanity outside the restrooms so one can wash hands, face, or freshen up a bit.
The furniture selection is high end and doesn't just look fancy, it's extremely comfortable... So the table and seating arrangements are well done.
They have a bar, with a wide selection of adult beverages, but they also serve a variety of other drinks, sodas and teas.
I've had the privilege of spending time in India and several other countries, I've eaten at high end resorts and also in restaurants with dirt floors and tables the size of picnic benches... And you sit on the dirt and eat... This restaurant is very well rounded and impressive with everything from food quality to...
Read moreWhat a fantastic addition to the OS food scene. The food was a refreshing change of pace, and everything we ordered was delicious. The service was acceptable for how busy they were. I think we could have done with one refill on our beverages, but other than that the wait staff was attentive and prompt.
The food came out at a reasonable pace. We got the Chilli Chicken as an appetizer first which was fantastic, with chicken tossed in a chilli sauce on crisp hot bell peppers and onions. For entrees, the wife had Chicken Masala and I tried the Goat Vindaloo. The wife had mild and I tried medium spicy, which we both thought was a good starting point. I had never had goat, and it was very much like a venison almost but less gamey. I tried the wife's masala and it was tender and buttery and creamy. The entrees came with rice and the portions filled us both up after appetizer and the naan. I had a "rescue" side of yogurt, just in case the medium spicy was too hot, but it wasn't necessary. The yogurt was a nice addition.
Atmosphere was nice, not overdone but comfortable. Even as busy as it was, it wasn't so loud that the wife and I couldn't carry on a conversation and be heard.
The price, quality, and portion of food was on point. For having only been open less than 2 weeks, I think they did a great job. Looking forward to going back! I think it would be a great...
