My husband and I visited for the first time on a Saturday morning to try the breakfast. When we arrived we were greeted by a nice guy at the counter. He was the only person working the counter. As we gave him our orders I noticed several plates of food in the window waiting to be delivered to the tables. Bad sign….eggs get cold fast. I guess he had to deliver food as well as man the counter. He seemed to be the only one working up front. Poor guy. We were given our number and found a booth. Not many customers yet as it was well before 9am. After 20-25 minutes our food arrived. Someone other than the guy at the counter brought our plates. Still no water or coffee or milk. My husband went back to the counter to inquire about drinks. At that time he was given a carton of milk and two glasses for the water and told it was self serve…mugs were by coffee pot. All this was around the corner out of sight (unless you were sitting on that side.) We filled our water glasses, I got a mug but coffee dispenser is empty…plenty of decaf, but I wanted regular. I just got decaf. Now back to the booth. My husband had Chicken Biscuits with sausage queso. He said it was hot and tasty. I had the Stadt Sunrise….eggs, grits, wheat toast, bacon. I ordered eggs scrambled and requested bacon crisp. Unfortunately nothing on my plate was even slightly warm. Cold eggs, limp cold bacon, grits stiff, cold, and bland. Wheat toast hard and cold. Basically inedible. I didn’t complain, which I realize is on me. However by then we’d been there nearly an hour and I had a job to get to. Disappointing to say the least. Waste of time, waste of money. I really wanted to like this place. By the time we left customers were backed up at the counter. I hope their experience was...
Read moreTwisted Turnip was twisted in more ways than one. My wife and I had heard the hype regarding this establishment, and we wanted to give it a try. We arrived for brunch and placed our order. It was quite difficult finding a place to sit because if a space wasn’t occupied by someone else’s dirty dishes, it was already occupied by a plethora of flies. Eventually we found a spot (a table we had to break off from an old group that had eaten there whose dishes were STILL on the table). Then we waited, waited some more, and again waited some more until our food came out. Maybe they’re short staffed, maybe the food is cooked to order and just takes time, regardless we were never given any reassurance from the staff that our food was on the way. It looked as if the people that were already sitting there waiting when we arrived were getting a bit upset as well with how long their food was taking. Our food arrived and my wife didn’t get the meal she ordered, but a few minutes later it was brought out to her. I had the breakfast bowl and she had the burrito. Unfortunately, the brisket in my meal was very dry and some of it was cold. My wife’s burrito came with an excess amount of grease. And I mean EXCESS. It was literally pooling on the plate. Oh, and to make matters worse, as the waitress is setting my wife’s plate in front of her, she is told that the Gouda grits that she had ordered as her side were completely gone.🙄 I’m not really sure if people just haven’t tasted good, quality made food or if they are just so caught up with eating at what’s “trending”, but it’s a shame. You could get way better food at any gas station. We will gladly, happily, and ecstatically spend our time and money...
Read moreDO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME , OR MONEY ..AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL . Passed thru from over 2 hrs away for what looked like a delicious menu. We arrived , were not greeted or asked how can I help you from the 4 people who where standing there when we walked In . stood at the counter to order ( seemed liked we “bothered “ the counter staff by asking questions) .. decided to sit outside and told we could order there …. After 15 minutes unacknowledged by anyone who “ works “ there , we get up and go back to the counter , where we are giggled at for trying to Order at the counter ( again) and are told to use the QR CODE to Order that was on the back of a napkin holder ?? So we did .. 2 cocktails, ( a margarita .. awful sweet juice mix and way too much $ for something I couldn’t even force myself to drink , and a Bloody Mary which was probably tomato soup with a lemon ) 2 waters, a breakfast burrito, and wedge salad with chicken … sounds good??? $73 ….. We received a cup of water , finally in a hotel plastic coffee cup , after stopping and inconveniencing the staff , get our meals brought out with way too much time in between … when others are waiting on food you don’t want to eat … we get our plate full of grease wrapped In a nasty plastic like tortilla with pre cut frozen potatoes …. And a whole head of lettuce that tasted like a hay field ( unwashed) and literally 4 bite size dry old warmed pieces of chicken, with 1 baby side size of kraft or “ non” homemade ranch … and after our meals … we received our “ juice / soup drinks” .. we checked ourselves Out and were almost charged 20% gratuity … comical. Awful service , awful food , awful everything . GO...
