I had been to this Gyro Republic location a few times during the day and had good experiences, so I decided to stop by again late one night around 10:30 p.m.—thinking it would be a better option than fast food. Unfortunately, this visit was completely different. When I walked in, no one was at the counter. One of the staff members was sitting at a table eating with a group of friends who seemed to be hanging out there. On the grill behind the counter, there was meat sitting out uncooked, and several of the topping trays were nearly empty. I ordered two salad/rice bowls, but was told they only had enough salad for one. The employee literally scraped the bottom of the container to get every last bit of lettuce, and it still didn’t fill half the bowl—so she just filled the rest with rice. The frustrating part was knowing they almost certainly had bags of salad in the back, but she didn’t bother to restock. She also told me there wasn’t enough gyro meat to make both bowls, even though I could clearly see plenty stacked behind her on the grill. Several other toppings were also nearly gone, and she scraped just enough to barely complete the order. It was obvious she didn’t want to step away from her friends to properly prepare food or replenish supplies. When I got to the car and explained to my husband what happened, he told me to take the food back. I didn’t—but we regretted it the next day when both of us got sick with stomach cramps and diarrhea. Sadly, we haven’t been back since. What could have been a solid late-night option turned into a disappointing (and...
Read moreMy first time eating here and I will not return.
I ordered a S A L A D Bowl. When my husband brought home my meal it had all the toppings but no salad base ..
I called the store to figure out how we could make up for this error and this guy proceeded to, not only argue with me about what a salad is, but come up with no resolution.
So I drove back to the establishment to receive better customer service.
The guy was there and continued to rebuttal that because I didn't click lettuce I didn't receive the salad base. My response was that IT'S IN THE NAME.
At the end of the day. This became a power struggle. I wasn't there to be right or wrong. I was there for accommodations due to miscommunication and a messed up order.
He tells me he could add lettuce on top and be done with it. But after all the arguing I wasn't even hungry anymore.
I tell him I just want my money back. I hadn't even touched the food. I'm returning the food as I received it with its receipt.
And he proceeds to tell me, "Gyro Republic doesn't give refunds to order errors that are not their fault."
The stress that came from this transaction was quite patronizing and apathetic.
You never know what someone's going through and I feel like this whole transaction made my day worse. I was already nauseous ordering the food and I left with body aches and a headache.
Yet gyro republic got $15 out of me...
Read moreThis place has so much potential to be amazing. The food is great..we did pickup initially and thought it was going go be a great addition to FBTC. Went back a second time but went inside- two guys looking like they hate their life and one served me. He was super annoyed as I was trying to give him my order but he couldn’t hear over the loud music. He had the same gloves on preparing my food/opening everything (doors to the back kitchen, fridge handle) and never changed his gloves. And then continued to slather the pita I ordered against the fridge as he was trying to grab more. I was grossed out but clearly uncomfortable to say anything as the atmosphere was already awkward. And not to mention banging the lids back onto the meat trays, giving an attitude while trying to prepare my food…it was not a pleasant experience, and you would think people want to portray a sense of hospitality if they want their business to thrive. I hope FBTC doesn’t continue this trend of opening yummy restaurants and then have...
