I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but our experience here was disappointing enough that I felt it needed to be shared.
My fiancée and I came in for the lunch special and arrived about 30 minutes before it ended. Right away, our waitress, Emily, was not welcoming. She informed us we had to order before 3 PM or we’d be charged dinner prices, which we understood, but the way she communicated it was unfriendly and rushed.
Throughout our meal, we felt pressured and uncomfortable. At one point, we were trying to finish our sushi (as per their policy) and had three pieces left from a roll we simply didn’t like. When Emily came by and saw them set aside, she didn’t offer any grace or understanding , just bluntly said, “You have to finish all of it,” and walked away. No explanation, no options, just cold.
She could have easily said something like, “Hey, just a heads up our policy is that all food must be finished, or there may be an extra charge. If you’d like to take it home, I can help with that.” A little kindness would’ve gone a long way.
To top it off, we were given the check while we were still eating, and Emily returned immediately to collect it before we even had a chance to look at it or get our card out.
We were rushed, the service was unwelcoming, and the overall experience left a bad taste and not from the food. We won’t...
Read moreMy daughter's friend suggested this restaurant so we gave it a try this past weekend. Great decision because this spot was definitely legit! It's a new restaurant, only about 9 months old. It was very clean and the staff was very nice. Its only 20 minutes away too, which was nice. Our waitress, Phuong, greeted is quickly and was extremely helpful with a smile. She even asked my wife and Mom if they were Vietnamese, which we all are. She then proceeded to speak to us in mainly Vietnamese during our visit, which made the experience that more comfortable, especially for my Mom. The food was delicious, everything we ordered was so good and fresh. We ordered the all you can eat Sushi Buffet and definitely ate our money's worth...lol Everything is served in smaller portions, which I liked. I eat ALOT so the smaller plates allowed me to try more dishes. The food comes out quick, even the steak. Which btw, was perfect. I had two orders! As for dessert, the kids had Chocolate ice cream and we ordered a Bananas Foster with Vanilla Ice Cream. It was so good, I should've ordered two! This spot will definitely be added to our restaurant rotation. Fyi, parking is a little limited, so if you go during peak times keep that in mind. Outside of that, if you're a Sushi fan, you definitely need to give...
Read moreSapporo is conveniently located off Hwy 6 and Fort Bend Toll right next door to Tao Tao Tea house which I found out later is partnered up with Sapporo.
We were greeted at the door and told that we could sit anywhere we wanted. The music was at the perfect volume where conversations could be heard across the tables.
After being seated, it was only minutes later that our server came over to take the order. She was very sweet and later came back at the appropriate times to check if anything was needed. She asked if we had been there before and proceeded to tell us how the all-you-can eat option works. I wasn't hungry enough to eat all I could within the 2 hours given, so I opted for a la carte.
I ordered the shaggy dog and shrimp shumai (deep fried). The shaggy dog is shrimp tempura and cucumber topped with crab, spicy mayo and eel sauce. It was very tasty. Even the pickled ginger was somehow better than what I've had before. The fried shrimp shumai wasn't greasy and the citrus soy served with it was a nice addition.
The next time I'm craving sushi, I'll be sure not to eat too much throughout the day because in my opinion, the all-you-can eat during dinner hours is worth...
