Short (kinda) version if you do not want to read it all- Service is great. Food is mid at best. Serving sizes are big if you dine in but if you carry out or get door dash you WILL be disappointed. Prices are easily 25% more just because it is located smack dab in the middle of a condo neighborhood full of tourists. I have lived here tor years and I have yet to find a truly great Mexican place. Lil Hacienda has been the best so far
Update- Tried it again. Just got the 3 tacos. Figured they could not go wrong there. Meh...mid-kinda good. The service is still great. Also doing a little comparison shopping you are going to pay about 25% more for food here vs in town because this place is in the Mastercorps and Fall Creek condos area. Meaning you are going to pay the tourist surcharge. As for the claim of having the "best margarita?" Well only if you do not like tequila and you prefer to drink 39 ounces of mix with one ounce of tequila (yes they have a 40 oz margarita...um marhinal-rita)
3 stars for the service, atmosphere, serving sizes and quickness Sadly the food is not good. I'll start with the best first Salsa-very good White queso- I think it would have been great without all the salt-and I love salt so it was a lot Pico-the tsp I got was okay Chicken Chimi- Not at all bad. They stuff it full and cook it perfectly. It's just little too juicy for my taste. Better that than dry though and the way my cheese was all in one place it was almost like they put a cheese stick in there Rice- kinda sticky pasty. The first bite tasted fine then it left a weird taste in my mouth Beans- a melted milkshake is thicker (for real) and flavorless Guac- OMG. Even "bad" guac is still good. But not this dark green slimy slop. (See photo) I don't know if there was something off in it or if they just add something I can't stand. But it was criminally bad. Price -fair enough. Maybe a buck or 2 higher than the same dishes in town Serving size- Entrees are huge. Sides were totally acceptable but the garnishment/toppings you get 2-3 bites at best. But in the case of the guac that 2 or 3 too many
Margaritas look great. But the smallest I saw on the menu are 20 oz and I was driving. But I do plan to return for one of those. Also my friend had tacos. He said they were okay. He ate them all. But also said he...
Read moreFirst and last time going here! I dined at this establishment last night 7/7/2024. It was me and my three children. Two teens and a 10 year old. The server was prompt. We ordered our food and waited patiently. When the food came it appeared to be okay. My son got the chicken quesadilla, my daughter got shrimp tacos, and my youngest daughter got the nachos. When my food arrived I was appalled. I decided that I wouldn’t be upset at the size for the price if the food had good flavor. It did not! The server asked if everything was good. I said my lettuce tasted old and was soggy. He said “oh. That’s not me. It’s the kitchen. I have nothing to do with it.” Then walked away. I forgot to add that my chimichanga wasn’t even standard burrito size. It was a taco dice flour tortilla rolled up like a burrito. When he came back he asked again. I said, “the meat is chewy and I can’t taste or see any red sauce.” He again told me that it wasn’t him. It’s the kitchen. I’ve never heard this reason before. I get it but it was so dismissive. Oh my daughter didn’t like her nachos but she ate a few since we were super hungry from our 8 hour trip here. I will say my other daughter did enjoy her shrimp tacos and my son said his quesadilla was fine. I tasted the quesadilla and it was dry chicken with barely any sauce. Quesadillas aren’t hard and the bar was pretty low but he liked it so I guess that’s fine.
I really don’t think the prices fit the food at all. I’ve had better at other places for less. The queso tasted like white velveta. I paid $75 for food that shouldn’t cost anymore that $33. It was 9 at night and I had limited options. I was truly bummed out after reading the reviews. Maybe it was a bad night. I don’t know...
Read moreI found this place looking for a late night dinner after full day of nature trails and wine tasting. They have a super cute seating area outside and a small seating area inside with boots and table and a few bar type stools. We ordered quesabirria from the appetizer menu, carne asada tacos with cilantro and onions, a special ordered dry carne asada burrito with cheese and sour cream. My husband also ordered the horchata. My husband was pleased to see that his burrito was just exactly as he requested and couldn’t stop talking about the creamy smooth horchata . Says without a doubt it’s the best he’s ever had!! And my tacos were delicious. But our favorite was the quesabirria!! It was absolutely delicious! The stewed meat was so flavorful and consommé, oh man, it made the whole thing! They do it right! I’ll go back again and again just for the quesabirria!! Highly recommend! Karen was our waitress and she made sure she had our orders down correctly and then when she brought our food out she wanted my husband to make sure the cook made his order they way he requested. She was sweet and thorough and we appreciated her making our dining experience so exceptional. We will...
