New China Buffet — Restaurant in Mitchell

If there was a zero star rating available I would have selected it. This place is terrible and has been terrible for the 5+ years I've lived in Mitchell. I typically like Chinese food alot and I've tried to give this place a chance several times over the years but they fail to even remotely hit 'decent' in any aspect of a restaurant category. They've been shut down several times due to failing health inspections and it still shows. The ice cream scoop has been sitting in the same water for years and appears to have never been actually washed. There is food and possibly snot on the walls and ceiling. There has been a bottle of apple cider vinegar sitting on a table and has not moved for over a year and has some kind of fuzzy creature living in it now. A lot of the food actually tastes old/bad/borderline rancid. You would be better off digging through the dumpster at Twin Dragon and eating scraps than chancing this disgusting,...

This place used to be pretty good around 2010. Now, not so much. Selection isn't good, half the buffet is empty, a lot of cold or barely warm food that's been sitting in the warmer for quite a while. The "Snow shrimp" is still pretty good, but everything else was mediocre at best, and inedible at worst.

The service is extremely hot or miss. The hostess/waitress/lady that yells at the cook is either very pleasant or rude depending on the day. We went twice in hopes that the first time was just an off day. It wasn't.

The place is filthy and falling apart. I used to eat here all the time when I lived here years ago, and the service was good, the food was good, and the place was clean and in good repair. Now it's the opposite.

Hopefully Mitchell can get a good buffet at some point....

This place is “Not decent, cashier unfriendly, only two workers there working.” The one in back did the food, dishes, and re stock but the cashier was the rude one. Had to pay up front, must be the new norm…didn’t really greet, just said the cost to eat for two. I said well wait a minute what am I paying for? Buffet or take out was her response. I said buffet, does that price come with drinks? No! their separate cost. Understandable! However for two it came to $26.77 unlimited food, didn’t finish my food…probably will not be going back!
