House of Chang — Restaurant in Mitchellville

I have been a customer for over 15 years. I have always been satisfied with service and quality of food. However, today was an exception. I ordered pepper steak, 3 pc chicken wings with fries and chicken lo mein. I called in and picked up order on way home. When I arrived home my daughter open her lo mein and removed contains from container and placed on plate. Less then a minute of eating she used her fork and pulled out a long strand black hair wrapped in with noodles. She immediately returned food to container. We examined the rest of food. Although my vegetables were chopped too large and under cooked, it was ok. I decided to return the lo mein especially since we are in a pandemic. I did not expect the push back when I went to return the item. I open the container and showed the hair. I was insulted. She said she will credit me, but the hair was not theirs. I asked do your cooks wear hair nets? She would not answer. I asked several times, do your cooks wear hair nets? She repeatedly said, not our hair. Well I have short curly salt pepper hair. It’s not mine either. I also told her anyone could have left the strand of hair who has access to your kitchen. It could have come from one of your vendors. My girls don’t have weaves and one of my daughter’s hair is shorter than mine. Look, three of my children have worked in the food industry. So there are going to be situations where things like this happen. But to accuse a loyal customer for something as foul as this is unacceptable and...

Been going here since I was a child not much has changed. It's your local family run chinese restaurant, with all the staple dishes you would want. Good portions and food. Dining in is a great experience, with great presentation of food and service. If you don't have time carry out is always good. The food is always hot and fresh and the wait times are super short. The lunch specials are a good deal, and a better choice for anything else you'd buy on a lunch break. They also have beer and wine sales so after a long day, or just to tired to hit happy hour, grab a beer or some wine with your food. Oh and the wings and fries fried perfect and covered the right way with mumbo sauce! Still a great place to grab some take-out all these...

Terrible customer service. I spoke calm and respectful from the start of my call to the finish and only called to ask them to put extra sweet and sour sauce in my bag after ordering over $45.00 worth of food. Im confused why there is a need to talk to customers as if we are doing something wrong. She literally yelled at me after I said “Hello I called to request extra sauce packets in more order”. She said “ What do you want? We got your order bye” and hung up. After a long day I’m too tired to argue with her about her attitude but I will leave this negative review and welcome an explanation so I can change this review.
