Five stars across the board for everything from the ambience and vibe of the restaurant, the staff, the music and of course the star of the show: the delectable dishes served at this neighborhood pub. From the moment my dining companion and I walked in we were greeted by our friendly and knowledgeable waitress, Rachel. She let us know about the specials of the day and my mouth immediately started watering: crab lasagna and a burger with the intriguing name, Kim Jong Mmm. Also available was the soup of the day, a crab, spinach and artichoke bisque. It was raining out so that sounded like the perfect starter. When I tell you this is one of the best soups or bisques that your taste buds will ever encounter believe. It was so hearty and filling that when I let my Mom sample it, she was still craving the taste even after eating her entree so much so that she ordered a bowl "to combat the elements" of the rain. Speaking of entrees, I of course ordered the decadent crab lasagna... chef's kiss. It was a generous portion of creamy, cheesy, and meaty goodness done in a white sauce. Mom opted for what I thought would be a simple turkey wrap. Nothing is simple or run of the mill here, this wrap was full of not just turkey but also sausage. The lasagna comes with a side salad and the wrap comes with chips but Mom opted for a Caesar salad. We both ended up with leftovers of course but that burger kept calling to me so, yes, I ordered it to go. I was not disappointed with this burger made with wagyu beef and topped with Korean bbq sauce, bacon, caramelized onions, jalapenos, pepper jack cheese, lettuce and tomato and pineapple...it was sensational. Although we didn't on this occasion choose any alcoholic beverages, they have an extensive bar along with wine and beer. And for the sports fan, there are several nice sized televisions for viewing the big game. We enjoyed watching the Masters tournament while we dined. So next time you're cruising down Old Shell Rd, do your taste buds a favor...
Read moreThis place is a great little hole in the wall!! I’ve been several times but none have made an impression like today! My girlfriend and I came in as something quick for lunch. We were seated quickly at the bar. The inside is small but comfy and on par with any other bar. The place is clean and well lit and the sound level is very good even when full. Our sever Alex Martin was awesome left a great impression. He was very attentive and helpful in recommending drinks and food. His attitude and the Way he spoke with customers was great. We left wanting to come back much more often than we used to. The new owner was also in there passing out food and checking on guests. He was also speaking people and leaving a great impression as well. We started with the crawfish and roasted red pepper dip which came out very hot and tasty with crunchy bread slices to dip. It was a great starter to warm us up and raise our spirits. We debated on what sandwich to choose as they all looked great. We settled on a white chicken bbq and a meatball sub and split them either way. The meatball sub was a great portion size and the meatballs were tasty and well cooked. The bread was great as was the cheese; the marinara sauce was good but could be been a bit more flavorful but nothing that ruined the meal by any means. Overall I would definitely get the meatball sub again. The white chicken bbq was also well toasted with good cheese, the chicken was well cooked and flavorful. The onions and bacon were also well cooked and the bbq sauce was yummy. I would definitely recommend this one. The overall environment and attitude of Alex our server and the owner left us elated after leaving! Can’t wait...
Read moreThe food was over priced but not bad,...same general offerings of the area, but more expensive. The service was terrible. We waited at least 30 mins before we could order food, we had already ordered drink refills. First off "$15 bottomless mimosas" means 2, no matter how many refills you ask for. My friend asked for coffee & beer refills but couldn't get those either. The manager on duty, Alana was our server & the owner was in house. I asked for a 3rd round of bottomless from a random server (after asking Alana twice), our drinks were put in togo cups & placed on a table outside. Afterasking multiple times for service, we were told we could only have drink refills (our 3rd!!!!) if we moved outside & gave up our table by a young lady yelling at us that she was "told by the person on the board." Mind you its 50 degrees outside today & we'd already been rushed to pay & tipped out but couldn't get refills on anything. I understand busy brunch, but I expect a better level of service. There were soooo many better ways they could have asked us to give up our table. If I was expecting fast food atmosphere I wouldn't pay the difference. Definitely not worth it, we won't be back. UPDATE: Owner doesn't care if you spend $300 & get terrible service. Apparently since my entire table had a bad experience, we don't matter. Go...
