Horrible service. Young lady is pleasant but she does not pay attention. We went in at 12:30pm there were 11 tables in the dining area. There were 3 servers. Host was friendly and gave us a choice where sit. Our server was chit chatting with the table next to us for 10 minutes. The host came and got her and told her another table needed a check from what I can tell. And that we were sitting waiting for her to greet the table. She never came. We were staring watching the room and host told her again and pointed at us. She came back over to the table next to us and was talking to the single woman there. She still is ignoring us. Host brings drinks and orders the beer for us. We are still watching her chit chat. I said excuse me miss but we are ready to order. She said well I am talking to this customer. I said please take my order and then talk to her. I just got off the plane I have not eaten. We are ready to order. I was not rude. I was asking her to do her job which is not talking about a school she use to go to etc. She gets beer and takes our order. She brings food out and it ces pretty quick. My spinach pastry is a frozen item that is baked perfect. The salad is fresh good. My husband ordered an Italian sausage sub. She brought an Italian sub with no salami or pepperoni very little meat. She does not come back to replace his beer or check the food. I call host over and ask for manager. No manager just a head server who is working a bunch of tables too. So she is not able to watch what is going on the floor. They should make the host a manager he understands the business. The server comes over and days I was rude to her because I Interrupted her while she was talking to another customer. The service says she's a very nice person which is probably true. I get that feeling. However she's supposed to serve everybody not just one woman. She is untrained and took everything personally. We will never go back. I'm just sharing our experience for everybody else. I was real disappointed . I read the reviews. I got my food to go we left the ham and cheese sandwich. The server should of notice it was ham and cheese. Server argued with us very unprofessional. I needs to pay more attention to what she is doing. Use this as a learning experience of what not to do. She set the mood by never Acknowledging and making eye contact and greeting us from the beginning. My husband and I together have 60 years of F of B. Not sure how this place is still...
Read moreMy profession is in Marketing and PR so I never write reviews on a business because I know the power they can have on them. With that said, I decided to leave a review because this was beyond the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. I have eaten here in years past and it was an adequate Italian restaurant, nothing special in my opinion. But tonight was a huge disappointment and has caused my family to never want to return. We arrived at 6:30pm and they were very busy, which is absolutely fine and we were told our wait would be 20-25 min at the most. We had no issue with that. We went to wait in our vehicle. 45 minutes later I returned inside to ask politely how much longer the wait would be. The host was pleasant and was apologetic, however the lady standing over her spoke over her and smarted off at me saying we were next to next to be seated... they told me I could get my family and we would be seated upon returning. We again patiently waited inside only to be offered immediate seating outside in 50 degree weather with only one outdoor heater working and we weren’t even close to it. At this point we have been there for an hour. Our waiter, DJ, was very kind and took great care of us, but as time went on he seemed to be given more tables than he could handle. This of course was not his fault, but still made our already poor experience even worse. The thing that really pushed us past frustration was the fact that someone seated 30 min after us received their food before us. Our waiter was very apologetic for the wait on food and repeatedly said there were issues in the kitchen. My pasta was over salted, my husbands shrimp wasn’t cooked all the way through and we had to stop on the way home to get my niece food because her food tasted like dish soap. We were rushed out at 8:55 since they closed at 9. We should have never been there for almost 2 and half hours. This was a horrible experience and I hope management reads and takes this review to heart and makes changes so no one else ever experiences this. We will not be returning nor singing your praises, but for the sake of those that love your restaurant, please please please make changes to better your...
Read moreI have never left a negative review to any place, but I am making an exception after my experience at Roma Cafe.
I have had numerous people recommend Roma Cafe, including my wife, Mom and sister. So, I finally went with my wife and niece and was quite excited. We arrived for dinner a little before 6:30 and were told that the wait would be 20 minutes at the most. Perfectly understandable and we gladly and patiently waited. After 45 minutes passed of us waiting, we went to go ask for a quick update and was told rudely by a waitress who spoke over the hostess that we would be coming up next. We ended up being sat outside at 7:45 nowhere near their portable heater. After waiting that long, I think we expected at the least a small table inside.
Moving forward, we ordered our food at 7:55 and did not receive our food until 8:30 despite two other families who were sat at least 20 minutes after us receiving their food before us. But, the five baskets of bread were nice.
Our waiter was very nice and made the experience better. However, after we were given our food, we did not see our waiter again until long after we finished eating, which is where I began writing this review. He apologized on two separate occasions for the kitchen staff for “not having the brains tonight” while also apologizing for being too busy “managing, cleaning, and waiting” on several tables. I want to make this very clear... Our waiter was not the issue. Management is the issue.
The fact that my family and I arrived at the restaurant just before 6:30 and got in my truck to leave at 8:55 is absurd. Especially for food that was nowhere close to being better than food at Olive Garden or dare I say Carrabba’s. Maybe because it was a Tuesday night, it was an off night. But, an off Tuesday night is not an excuse. Poorly managed restaurant and for the sake of those who love Roma Cafe, make changes.
This was my first and last time at Roma Cafe and I will not be...
