Posted June 14, 2019 11:30 p.m. I ended up paying my bill to the cook at the Government Street downtown Waffle House. He told the only waitress there that he was going to get his $2 tip back. She was busy with another customer and I did not know what he meant. What it meant was he was going to overcharge me by $2 which he did and I foolishly paid him plus left the waitress a tip. His name was George evidently. I mentioned to him that I thought the bill was $7 not $9 but he ignored me. I was tired and just paid the bill. I do not appreciate this at all. I meant to write a letter online to Waffle House in Atlanta about this but I never got around to wasting my time doing this for this petty larceny.
Other than that I have enjoyed eating at this Waffle House. Most of the Personnel are very nice.
Also the owner of the restaurant does not participate in discounts that Waffle House corporate offers many customers, such as veterans, of which I am one. Owner's choice but I will certainly help publicize his choice. I also found out about this the hard way. I have cut way back on my trips to this place.
At another Waffle House closer to the interstate but also on Government Street, I had a very rude waitress experience. And my cheese omelet was very oily and greasy, I felt almost on purpose. Read moreThis waffle house redeemed the whole district, most of which sucks. They got everything perfectly correct on the cook and service was on point. The manager at this location runs a tight ship and should be the district manager rather than just a single location manager. For clarification, we've had issues (mostly major) with every location in the district. So much so that the district manager literally asked us to stop calling corporate office and gave us his cell phone number. Even with the direct feedback he's been unable to correct issues. We were surprised to find out that this location fell under his district since the food and service were so awesome. Leslie, keep up the great work with properly training your team, they're awesome. Read moreSecond time at this particular Waffle House and both times the service was excruciatingly awful. Our meals took an unusually long time to prepare. Both my wife and I orders were botched ( both visits here). The waitress was unconcerned and bored last visit. This visit, our waitress was the only part of the meal that didn't stink. Alex was very nice and attentive. This is the closest Waffle House to our home and we both really enjoy Waffle House. Next time we will simply find another W.H. close by. Oh my pecan waffle had a 3 inch center of pecans with none, not one pecan, in the rest of the entire waffle! And to boot, it was 80% pecan dust. I'm assuming that it was the bottom of the bag of pecans, so to speak and they were literally dumped in the center exclusively.
