Online and warehouse don't play well together. I went to the warehouse to buy a large TV. Not sure if it would fit, the Costco representative said I should take advantage of free shipping and 2-3 day shipping on a rather large tv. Why bother with it when it is free and will arrive soon? We pulled it up on the app together and with my zip code and everything was as he said. I make the hour drive home and immediately order it. Well, the dates changed when I checked out, but the zip code never changed. I was out of market which changes everything, even though I started the transaction saying that. Now it is 1-2 weeks minimum. Not good, but not the end of the world. Then, they contacted me 3-4 days later saying they were waiting for me to schedule? What does that mean? I called, told to call the next day. Called the next day and they have no idea why I got that email. Now it was going to arrive even later and they had no idea why. Even the Costco.com representative was confused why this was taking so long and we still had no idea of a delivery date, a week later. I said, is there any way to cancel this order online and I will just go to the store (another hour) and buy and be done with this? She said sure, but you would be best to go to the warehouse as they can process the refund quicker, so I don't end up with 2 tvs on my Costco credit card.
Made sense, so I drove to the store and meet with the return team. "We have no idea why online sent you to the store". They should have processed that. So now they had to call online department, while I waited to cancel to transaction. Only to find out that your card is only pending and not actually charged to begin with. Really, I can't make this stuff up.
I finally buy the tv now at the warehouse and get it home and unpack it. Literally, as I unpack it I get a email of a member only sale that is about to take place tomorrow. On that sale is the TV I just bought, $200 cheaper than my sale price! Sweet! I call the warehouse the next day and ask for the difference per their pricing policy. No problem, just drive to the store another hour. What??! It was bought with my Costco credit card, just refund it to that. "No, sorry, we have to have the credit card in person as it is against our company policy". I told them it was unacceptable and asked for a customer service number to tell them about my experience.
I explain the whole thing to find out it wasn't customer service they gave me, but the online department. Since they cancelled the order already, they couldn't help me. But, if I bought it online, they COULD DO THE PRICE CHANGE REFUND WITHOUT THE CARD!
Beyond frustrated. Another 2 hour roundtrip for me I guess. I love Costco most of the time but they screwed this deal up at every turn. I would have gave them the traditional "I am angry customer-1 or 0 star reviews", but everyone I spoke with tried to help me and the system was limited them.
Bottom line-...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been to multipal costco's around the usa as i travel for work and If i could give this location ZERO stars i would!!
I went in with my family bought $700 worth of items. Everything was fine up until checkout, one of the items i bought happened to be a $50 pet bed(all of them were shrink wrapped into what i assumed to be individual packages) as none of the packages were opened and i was kinda happy as we had a 2hr drive home and were in a pickup so i was estatic my pet bed would stay clean..
automatically after paying for all 40 items i had bought a chinese lady worker came up grabbing my packaged dog bed saying i was stealing and there was 2 in the packaged item..
I kindly told her no that there was only one in their because they were all un opened.
She told me she would go look and i said that was fine and stopped at the cafe and bought 3 hotdog meals while i waited for her to check.. a few moments later She then proceeded to get on the radio and scream at the workers to block all doors and not let anyone with a pet bed out of the store because they were trying to steal.(im still at cafe waiting on her to return, not attempting to leave the store)
Manager DAVID then walked up and offered to show me that they had 2 pet beds in the packaged item and said i would need to pay for both if i didnt want package opened. After he opened my package i then met back up with my family at cafe to sit down with our paid for items to eat our hotdogs and manager DAVID rudely walked up and said "are you ready to leave so i can walk you to the door?" I explained to him that we were planning to eat our hotdogs at cafe and was telling my husband how the workers were acting like i was trying to steal a $50 pet bed and manager DAVID told me that we needed to leave while shoving his hand in my face, then proceeded to walk over to chinese lady and said "good job on preventing them from stealing 2 dog beds"
FIRST OF ALL YAL DID NOT NEED TO BE SO RUDE TO SOMEBODY WHO HONESTLY HAD NO CLUE THAT 2 DOG BEDS CAME IN ONE PACKAGE BECAUSE YOUR EMPLOYEES DID NOT CORRECTLY OPEN ANY OF THE VAACUM SEALED PACKAGES MAKING ONE THINK THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO COME LIKE THAT. IT WAS A HONEST MISTAKE AND YAL TREATED ME LIKE A COMMON CRIMINAL LIKE I DIDNT HAVE THE MONEY TO PAY FOR MY ITEMS OR SOMETHING WHEN I HAD ALREADY SPENT $700. NOT EVERY PERSON IS A THEIF SOME MAKE HONEST MISTAKES AND CONSIDERING YOUR CHECKOUT PEOPLE DID NOT CATCH THE FACT THAT IT DIDNT COME LIKE THAT EITHER TELLS YOU IT WASNT A MALICIOUS MISTAKE. YALL NEED TO DO BETTER NOT EVERYBODY IS BROKE AND LOOKING TO STEAL...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am new to the whole Costco thing. Many people have always ranted and raved about how great Costco is, so I decided to try them myself. I signed up for a new membership at one their stores in Tampa, Fl, who seemed to have a great selection and the customer service was excellent. I recently went in the store located in Mobile, Al and it was a terrible experience. Not only did I have to scan all of my items at self checkout, but they had no cordless scanner to scan the bulkier items. A lady came by and asked if we needed help cause she saw us struggling. After we had scanned all the items I had a certificate that I wanted to use. Which was only for about $12. They said they couldnāt do it at the self checkout, but she could suspend the order and we would have to wait in line again. She asked a manager if they could assist and he said he was too busy that we would have to get in line. After waiting in line for a second time, we tell the cashier that they had suspended our order because we had a certificate. The guy was training another lady and told her to make sure she counted every item in our cart. The lady picked up our stuff and just started tossing everything around with no care. I almost about walked out at that point, but I needed some of the items and just held my cool. I tried to make the payment and my card was declined. The cashier said they only take visa credit cards or debit cards. My membership ends in December and I will not renew again. I have been a lifelong member of BJās and Samās club and have never gotten such...
