Betty's Kabob — Restaurant in Modesto

I'm now on keto, I live in Tracy and it looks like I'll be making frequent trips to Betty's in the near future. Earlier today I told my wife that I was craving Kabobs and I really wanted to feast but didn't want to spend a bunch of money at a sit down nor did I want to fire up the grill and go through that hassle of making kabobs. A couple weeks back we passed Betty's after church but I was in a rush to get home but the smell of the Kabobs were stuck in my head since then. I called them up today and a lovely lady picked up the phone and I ordered 2 koobideh dinner plates, a skewer of tomatos, 5 skewers of koobideh and 1 skewer of chicken breasts. Let me tell you they like to add roasted jalapenos on the side for free which was an awesome bonus. All of this for less than $60!!!!! I gave them $60 and an extra $10 as tip. This much food would be well over $100 anywhere else. The owners were extremely hospitable and accommodating. I told them I would be cutting it close to their closing time and they said no worries and they waited for me. I don't think I'll ever make Kabobs at home anymore. Welll, let me start off by saying I absolutely love quality, let me repeat, quality Persian food. I have traveled hours to go to the Bay or Sac to get something decent. We stumbled on this place looking for something that wasn't packed due to it being Valentine's day and all. Ok let me also mention I’m Middle Eastern myself and KNOW good quality ethnic food. We called to see if they are open for dine in and the woman who answered the phone was so so pleasant. Very welcoming. So we get there, nice family owned restaurant. Very quaint. The beautiful Persian music was playing. We ordered our food and sat down to eat. I have no words to describe how happy I am to FINALLY have a GREAT Persian restaurant close enough to frequent regularly. The food was superb. The kubede kabab was amazing. My husband ordered the steak and chicken kabob combo. Holy smokes. I was blown away. We ordered two more dishes to go for dinner. I want to try everything on the menu. Exceptionally great food, friendly service, and lovely food presentation! Impressed with new ownership and subtle changes that make it unique to Betty's. We're previous loyal patrons of George's but are certainly happy to have Betty in town. Fresh tasty hummus pairs well with an aromatic Perisan salad over thin bread. I enjoyed a hearty plate of lentil soup which I devoured as my main dish. Spouse ordered the combo plate with chicken and beef kabobs that he thoroughly enjoyed. Servings sizes are generous, bring your appetite, or even share with a friend. Our server was charming, efficient (water glasses ALWAYS filled), and had a nice sense of humor.
