8/26/2025: Stopped in recently to pick up my grandson's favorite Goat curry, and Abel shared that he had created a new dish, curry oxtail, to celebrate his 1 year anniversary at his location in Modssto coming up in September. I've attached a preview video of Henri plating it up. Omg, it smells amazing and so yummy. If you like oxtail come get you some. Also, Abel said he'll be offering a 15% discount in September and October to thank Modesto patrons for welcoming him to the area and making him the number 1 new restaurant in Modesto for 2024! If you haven't tried it yet, now is the time!
6/13/2025: Just had another wonderful meal and celebration with my extended family. As always, the food was awesome, and the service was excellent! CariBlue is our go-to place for goat curry, and jerk chicken.I've been here several times now, and everything is absolutely delicious! Today, we had a fabulous catered buffet with so many scrumptious dishes; we had lots of leftovers to take home too. The owner, Abel Cano, is super friendly, and I wish him great success. The restaurant is clean and inviting with a laid-back, cozy vibe. All of the proteins are cooked to tender perfection and come with sides of beans mixed with coconut rice and fried plantains. The plantains are caramelized nuggets of bliss, so be sure to order an extra side of those. The portions are generous, and for dessert, they have the cutest little individual pineapple upside down cakes. They have nice vegetarian options as well. I really enjoyed the polenta and veggies with jerk sauce, and the curry sauce was also amazing. He does catering, too. No catering order is too big or too small. He's catered three events for me so far, and each time, the food arrived on time and was hot and delicious. So plan ahead for those office parties, weddings, and summertime celebrations with a taste of the Caribbean. You'll be glad you tried this festive and inviting cuisine. I have included a short video of our catered buffet for a family celebration and also one of what he delivered for my dentist's office as examples of what CariBlue can...

Read moreThe food here is consistently excellent – packed with flavor and clearly made with passion and attention to detail. I go so often I think I’ve had nearly everything on the menu at least once at this point. My go-to order is the Ox Tail and Pork Cubes combo plate (pictured) and it never disappoints. The flavors are rich, savory, and full of depth every single time. My personal recommendation is to get a side of the Corn Festival to combine with any extra sauce.
On top of the great food, Chef Abel is one of the kindest and most welcoming people around. No matter how busy things get, he always takes a moment to greet us and share a friendly word, even if it’s just a quick hello. That kind of genuine hospitality makes every visit feel special.
In short: I highly recommend stopping by. Cariblue has quickly become one of my favorite places and is an essential part of my restaurant rotation. I’m stopping by at least...
