The play area was fun for the kids and the food was good however the management and hostess were extremely awful. Our hostess gave us incorrect information regarding our party. We bought the $16.99 star package deal. When we arrived and our hostess explained what we would get with our package she also told us of various incentives and extras such as the "xxx tickets in place of balloons", "xxxx play points for planning our party online for a sunday" etc, and offered unlimited passes for our party kids for an additional $7 to the party total. I asked "so just $7 total for all the kids?" She said just $7 total. I checked with my husband and a couple of other parents if we should go for it and then checked again to make sure "so it's just an additional $7" she said yes. So we went on throughout the party, got the total in the end, which she ran through quickly, gave a description of what we ordered "we got 3 pizzas, 12 kids drinks, blah blah blah". She didnt say she added $7 per kid for the play passes. We thought that the upgrade was some incentive for hosting our party there. When I went back to check why the party was substantially more than what we booked for online we saw that we got charged $7 per child. I called to explain how we were not given the correct information to make an informed decision. I felt we were duped out of money because of how she offered the unlimited play passes and the fact that when I called to explain the mistake the manager said "how do you not notice the difference when your right here paying?". Okay so I didnt check until I was in the parking lot. Mind you there are so many people waiting in line. Excuse me for cleaning up my party and going to my car instead of holding up a check out line and tables so i can check my totals. And the point is, i checked within the 15-20 mins after I left. Not the next day or weeks later. I am angry that I tried to explain how we weren't given correct information and felt played and the managers responses were "too bad". He just kept saying "how do you not notice a price difference?". I explained that we paid a lot of money and he said "well that's not the point" . Yes that is the point. Maybe if you guys gave time for the party head to go through the totals instead of sneakily rushing through the items and not the prices there wouldnt be a problem. Rick is a condescending horrible person. He didnt try to remedy the situation and all but directly called me a liar. Basically said it's their word against mine. If it weren't for their deceitful tactics to lie to you and misinform you of prices we'd keep our planned parties for this establishment, but all will be planned for elsewhere.
So make sure you check your totals. Dont agree to something unless you are sure you know what you are getting. Oh and this wasnt the 1st time I've been ripped off here. We will never host another party here and every party being planned here we will convince our friends and families to not do. I will also take this complaint to all forms of review boards, corporate...
Read moreMy daughter had her 3rd birthday party here last Sunday in Modesto, and I was so happy that we did! This was the cleanest Chuck E. Cheese, we ever went too. The bathrooms were very clean every time we went. I even complimented the worker who was in there checking in on the bathroom's condition (she was wearing the Lydia costume from Beetlejuice the cartoon). The rugs were very clean. The facility didn't smell funny, like other Chuck E Cheese's we've been to. The salad bar had fresh items and didn't look like old veggies were in it. The soda fountain area was not messy or sticky. All my guest were very happy and talking to me that they were surprised this Chuck E Cheese was clean too, and they loved the pizzas. Our host Emma was great. Although she was being shadowed by a more seasoned host, she did wonderfully. Besides having the "ultimate party" package where we paid $37.99 per child, I also ordered 2 "Bravo" military packages. Our pizzas were coming out hot, fast, and so were the drinks. Emma had very good communication with me. She kept me on track with the time schedule to when Chuck E. Cheese was going to come out and sing Happy Birthday, serving the cake, and to when the ticket blaster was set for my kids (my older daughters went into the blaster). My guest had a great time for 2 hours playing unlimited games, and they were all so happy that all the games worked! There is a great variety of games, for the young to old can play and have a great time. I noticed the busboy and staff were out there frequently wiping down the tables and removing trash. We will be...
Read moreDue to covid hitting our daughter's classroom we wanted to do something special and memorable since she couldn't have her friends come. Chuckys birthday star experience was outstanding! Special thanks to chucky himself who seemed to know exactly how to handle the kids that were afraid of him and the ones a wee bit shy! Perfect amount of reassurance and proximity.
Special note. Do to the changes covid brought to us all, they no longer run off coins, personal fun pass cards keeps everyone as germ free as possible. And they had staff continously disinfecting games even though there was less than twenty people in the place. Really made all worries melt away. They also have apon entering and exiting a security check station, good for preventing children getting out or leaving with the wrong adult, I do recommend if you are like me, get the stamp with all children you are responsible for. Had to locate my daughter to clear my screaming grandson so I could take him outside to chill out. Not the most easy thing to accomplish but was glad to know that even though the staff knew he was mine, they still insisted they had to have a matching stamped hand to allow our exit. Made me feel like they cared about my...
