Going to leave a thorough review for the owners, the people who haven’t been here yet, and those who rated it poorly in the past.
I came today Friday May 30th at around 845am. I am leaving day and time to give both owner an idea of who was working and previous/new customers when I went to receive this experience.
The place has a captivating atmosphere. The decorative space was really well done. It’s a place I’d love to hang out with someone. The food was amazing. I ordered the sandwich Torta de Jamon and coffee mazapan latte. Ordered a grilled cheese for the little one.
To the previous customers who left bad reviews. I did not get the experience you had at all. I’m not saying you didn’t experience it but I will say I believe your constructive criticism was listened to by owner/management. The food came out in a timely manner. They did call out name for the food and coffees. Nothing felt old or stale. I would encourage the previous customers to come back and give it another chance. If you have ever opened up a new establishment, first few months can be a little difficult at times if there was mistakes made.
Well done to the owners and staff for improving from the past mistakes. Whatever was said about this establishment I did not experience that today. I will gladly come back again. I will say if I have ONE critique, for the dine in option, I know this would be hard to push for labor and time but I would love to be served in an actual mug or some form of coffee cup that isn’t paper with plastic lids. There are some locations in Modesto that have that for the dine in experience and I feel this would be a perfect for the atmosphere you have created. That change alone would have me come back a few times a week.
For the new customers, I highly suggest you ignore the lower rating and give it a shot. I had a great time, food was great, coffee was amazing. This is NOT Starbucks so don’t think you’ll get your order super quick. This isn’t that experience so go in with that...
Read moreThis place has so much hype and since it's new in modesto why not try it right? Well I took my mom a few days after they're grand opening but service was super disappointing. The young gentleman was kind but his face was just showing so much confusion to say the least. My mom ordered the cafe de olla and I ordered the brown sugar shaken espresso and for my shaken espresso I waited a good 15 minutes and I had to go up to the kid and ask about it. My mom's coffee was good but a little too sweet for her. During the 15 minutes of waiting for my coffee I decided to order a grilled cheese for my son. I had seen that the lady making the sandwiches took off somewhere and then was going over some doordash orders with another young lady and my order on the screen was just there blinking. Finally after a few orders in she walks back to that area and starts making the sandwiches but makes one that was way after me. I was a little upset that the service was lacking and they should've had better training prior to opening because some people don't have all the time in the world to wait for food, especially since it's located around the courthouse area so some employees from around will only have a short break/lunch. In total i waited a good 30-40 minutes and by then I had to hurry and leave since the parking spot was only for 1 hour. The mini conchas didn't disappoint but I wouldn't go back just for that so hopefully they get more training or more staff. And no it wasn't busy, I believe it was around 930am and we were the only ones ordering at the time. I did notice that on their shirts it says "Ponte las pilas" so I'm hoping they put that...
Read moreNot going to lie, saw these guys on Instagram about the San Jose location. I saw about the big concha bread and it looked amazing. So brought the family. So the big huge pink concha that everyone sees, its a special order and didn't have it in stock, that was like 40$, but the only one they had was probably to have half that size was 35$. However that fed about 10 people depending the hunger level. The bread was very moist and soft which was a plus. And they had that big cup of hot chocolate abuelita and that was great. Its one of those places to go to say "yeah I tried it" and thats about it. Im sure they have other great items to eat there but no one goes for the food they want was seen on the 'gram. If I need a concha fix, I'll just go to the Mexican bakery or Northgate for the huge concha for 5 bucks. But its a nice place and a great family or date outing, but I would probably not go back, as its a good feed your curiosity thing. That's...
