Giacomo's Espresso — Restaurant in Modesto

I asked a TON of questions and the barista that helped me was fabulous. She answered everything and then some, and was happy to do it. Prices were great, she was great, fast service, and the drinks are really good. Will definitely visit again when in the area. Ive tried both here and queen bean downtown, and I'd say this place is better. Both offer your standard as well as fancy drinks, and pastries. Giacomos has less full size sandwich type options, but has the drive through which is amazing, and I dont typically go to coffee places for sandwiches.

Drink notes: -two fancy iced drinks only costed $7.80. I seek out unique coffee shops, and this is the best price you will find anywhere -the iced mocha uses DARK CHOCOLATE (the best!). -For iced drinks, she recommended the nutty Roman (hazelnut, caramel, something else) as the most popular, and its really good! I ordered one half sweet, and its perfect for me. The regular sweet one is comparable to a Starbucks type drink (but better flavor imo) -the drinks use syrups, which is fairly standard -they use big ice for their drinks -the espresso tastes fairly light. I didnt ask what roast they used, but it seems like a light roast, even through...

Really upset and how customer service and coffee has went downhill lately. I understand they are training ppl, but this is 3 days in a row that the coffee hasn't tasted nothing like every day I've been coming for yrs!! Ive brought so many new customers and switched them of cruddy star bucks coffee. Now I feel they are becoming like them. I always get a extra shot no whip. And the last 3 days has been weak and alot of whipcream. I'm not the type that sends drinks back I just deal w it. But 3 days in a row makes me never want to come back. I'm so embarrassed cause I brought new ppl knowing its the weekend I should be able to get proper order and it wasnt once again!!!

Over the last year this place has just got downhill in my opinion. Used to be a daily patron over the last 5 years, and used to rave about Giacomos and always used to look forward to getting my morning coffee. But over time quality and customer service has just gone down and continues to go down.

While I understand that prices are increasing everywhere, I don't like paying more for a drink but quality of the drink also decreasing. I order the same thing every day, and it always tastes different depending on the barista.

In short, prices increase, quality and customer service decreased. Stamp card used to be buy 10 get 1 free, now its buy 12 get one free.

And effective March 1, free drink will have a limit of 5...
