La Huerta Vieja — Restaurant in Modesto

First visit her was amazing! Bean dip when your seated is very good. I ordered the chili con carne of chicken & let me tell you if you want or are looking for something spicy this is definitely the dish to order! The flavor & taste was amazing. Fist visit the waitress was very attentive. Only down side was the portions of rice & beans even on my 2nd visit both times I asked for less beans & more rice & didn't get it. 2nd visit was just a bummer we ordered carnitas enchilada & burrito combo. Carnitas are not your traditional fried carnitas they are very saucy (which we did not like the flavor). The waitress was not attentive we had to wait for quite awhile to let her know we didnt like it & just take it off the bill. Had to wait awhile for Togo containers for the rest of our food. Then another waitress came & helped us after our complaint of the carnitas & she did remove the charge for the items we did not like but nothing else was offered for the inconvenience of taking so long to correct it. My husband and I went to eat here last night around 7 pm. We frequent this restaurant pretty often as it's our favorite mexican food place, but can say after tonight we won't be coming back. We received some of the worst service we've ever encountered here, and keep in mind the restaurant was pretty empty. There were only a couple of other tables that were full so no reason why the service should of been so bad. The female waitress straight up acted like she didn't want to be there and appeared bothered anytime we requested something as simple as napkins. Her attitude was so off-putting and the last time we ate there she was the same exact way. The wait staff would attend to other tables and literally just walk past our table without checking in once. Anytime we needed something we would have to flag someone down. I don't appreciate being ignored as were paying to eat at, and support, your restaurant and have done so for years. The food is decent, but not good enough to be okay with what we experienced last night. We will be going elsewhere for now...

I just left La Huerta Vieja and was blown away by the quality of their Mexican food. The breakfast burrito in particular was out of this world! The tortilla was perfectly cooked, the eggs were fluffy, and the Carne asada had just the right amount of spice. The burrito was also generously filled with fresh ingredients like avocado, salsa, and cheese. It was truly one of the best breakfast burritos I've ever had!

The service at La Huerta Vieja was also exceptional. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and they made sure that our food was delivered quickly and hot. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also very welcoming and had a nice Mexican vibe.
