Fire Wok — Restaurant in Monmouth

Just had my first meal at the Fire Wok restaurant and it was great! First off, even though it is located in the old Chinese restaurant building, and that they serve Chinese, that is where the similarities end with the old restaurant! Completely different! No buffet at this time. Meticulously clean! Everything is on the menu, which was clear and concise. They do serve the food on paper plates and have plastic cutlery, offer canned drinks instead of fountain drinks, but the food more than made up for that!lol Fire Wok had several different employees tonight, each more friendlier than the other! They've redone the layout and it is unrecognizable, from the past, but it's very nice! The food was quickly made and delicious! All the ingredients were fresh and crisp just the way I like it! The shrimp was succulent and more than satisfying!

Service here was outstandingly friendly and almost comical the way they inspired a smile from us! Can't beat that for service! Amy, the young lady in the picture, was a joy to speak with and we look forward to coming again! Monmouth certainly needed an oriental flavor to be added to it's palette of tastes and cultures, and this one certainly fits that need!...

If I could give them no stars I would, but I have to give at least one I will never order from this place again. I asked for a simple extra soy sauce I have spent over $100 with these people in the past two days this last order they gave me one soy sauce and then tried accusing the DoorDash driver of stealing it, DoorDash driver steals soy sauce I will never order from these people again Money I’ve spent with them is incredible well over $100 in two days all because you don’t want to give condiments, I will never order from this place again one soy sauce is what we got with our order after they literally called us back when we put our order in they called us back and we told him exactly what we wanted extra soy sauce they gave us one and then accused the DoorDash driver of stealing it. Why would a DoorDash driver seal soy sauce, especially one of African descent I will never order from this place again. I don’t care how good their food is. I will never order from them again. My first experience was pretty good. My 2nd was absolutely awful. Missing food. The crab rangoons were damn near empty. The rice had an "off" taste. I figured I'd try it the next day. I was wrong. The food tastes horrid on day 2. Even the sweet and sour sauce. Not sure if they're cutting corners now or what but this experience was as terrible as eating Chinese in Galesburg. I don't recommend. If you are buying cheaper ingredients, it's not worth the flavor change to me personally. I'd rather pay more for...
