If I could rate 0 stars I would. The absolute worst service I've ever experienced. Service was fine until it got busy so we started going to the bar from our table for drinks. That was fine for one round and it went down hill from there. My friend stood at the bar for 20 minutes, grabbed the bartender, Betty's, attention twice and still didn't get served. The other people at the bar were even trying to help get them served. They gave up and came back to the table. I went up and waited, grabbed her attention twice and still didn't get served after 20 minutes.
All the while, between the two of us watching the same group of people barking orders at her and getting served immediately. We Weren't the only people getting ignored and waiting 10 plus minutes for drinks. After two attempts at getting more drinks we asked to close out our tabs. After another 10 minutes of waiting to leave I went downstairs to get a manager. Waited another 10 just for the bartender down stairs to tell me she could help because I guess the manager wasn't available. Was told she'd be up to help.
They never came up to help, I waited at the bar and had to ask another two times to close my tab and waited another 15 minutes to do so. They hold your card at the bar behind the register with receipts all stacked together in arms length from the seats. Anyone could reach over, grab a handful of cards and leave.
On a Saturday night I understand it's going to be busy. They had three employees. 1 bartender upstairs, 1 down, 1 waitress. The upstairs was so packed you couldn't move without touching someone. Theres no reason you should have only one very frazzled and visibly overwhelmed bartender on a Saturday night. No one was wearing masks and the bartender was reusing glasses without washing them, just rinsing in a tub of what I can only hope was sanitized water. The food was not worth the prices for the portions. The drinks were overpriced as well.
I know working in the service industry is hard work. My friends and I were nothing but polite to this woman and tried to be patient and wait for her to get to us and she just never did. I've never in my life not tipped a server or bartender, I always tip more than 15%..this is the first time I didn't tip and it was absolutely justified.
Serving only your regulars and ignoring everyone else is a good way to lose business. We will never be returning...
Read moreWe stopped in for a bite to eat while passing thru Williamstown. Being from the south Jersey area and having gone here plenty of times in the past (moved away in 2018 but had been going here since 2012) I remember the food & atmosphere being great so I suggested to get food here based on that…however, it wasn’t the same unfortunately. Not sure if they had switched owners or if the recent Covid 19 pandemic had not been so good to this establishment but whatever the case, it was definitely not the same! We sat at the bar on the main floor and there were only 3 other customers when we arrived but it still didn’t matter since it took the bartender several mins to even acknowledge we were there. We ordered a rolling rock & a Malibu bay breeze..being a bartender in the past, I know what this drink color should be and how it should taste..and even tho every bar is different & this drink may vary a tad from place to place, it was way off that I couldn’t imagine this bartender knew what she was doing/how to make this simple drink (Malibu rum, pineapple juice & a splash of cranberry is the basic recipe) but I barely had 3-4 sips and left the almost full drink pretty much untouched because I couldn’t handle this sugary/syrupy drink that I could tast only the coconut rum & what I think was grenadine syrup in. We asked the bartender for food menus & then waited almost 10 mins for the server to come over and take our order. My fiancé ordered a cheeseburger deluxe but was not asked any questions (like how he would like it cooked/the temp or what type of cheese) and I ordered Mac & cheese bites..my food was good but then again, it’s kinda hard to mess up something that was only fried & done, however, the burger was not good, barely ok’ish at best. He only ate maybe half of the burger and again, I barely touched my drink..we stayed maybe 40 or so mins total then left. Unfortunately, this is not the same Sharkeys that I remember from a...
Read moreAbsolutely the worst service I've ever had. It seemed to be run by teenagers. I've been in the business for 16 years and this place is a joke.
It was this past Sunday night shift. Bartender appeared after 3-4 minutes of waiting w/o "employee" in sight. Almost walked out but the series was on and we didn't want to miss it. Then it took her quite a while to make and present us our first round of drinks. Forget about a second round that took 16 minutes w empty glasses.
It boggled my mind that we witnessed 3 customers come in and wait and wait and wait. It was unreal. One wanted a drink got pissed and went to the upstairs bar. One had called in a take out order and waited probably 7 minutes before she was even approached. The last guy came in for packaged good he waited just as long as we did appon asking for our check. We called across the bar to her. She was sitting on the beer coolers all curled up showing a customer pictures of sea shells she had collected over the weekend. Picture after picture without budging to help him or us.I almost walked out again. Finally she came over couldn't find our bill asked us what we had and did some math in her head guessed wrong the first time then told us another price. I put the money on the bar +tip and walked out to never return again.
Good luck, I'd clean house if I were you!!
Oh wait my tater tots were...
