Saw some good reviews and bad reviews but decided to try this place anyway. I would highly recommend NOT TO eat here and go somewhere else. I went on a Friday evening with my mother-in-law. It was a calm and relaxing atmosphere and the wait was only 15 mins even though the place wasn't packed at all. Just didn't have enough servers to sit us right away. Two groups of two and a group of four were also ahead of us. Even though the atmosphere was calm the building structure isn't in very good shape. I'm mainly talking about their ceiling here. You can see water stains all over their tiles. Some are fresh and some are extremely old. To the point where the spots are extremely black and make you wonder if mold may be growing in the tile. Watch out, something might come out of it like the movie Black Water. The free bread that's served to you is absolutely terrible. It had no taste and the bottom side was hard. The bottom is almost like a tart and you could also still see the flour in the base of the bread. The top side was still edible but you could almost say it was still raw. Since the bread didn't push back towards you when you pressed into it. Paul Hollywood would be very upset. My mother-in-law and I both ordered the filet mignon. Which by the way, they're round steaks and are good quality meat. When we both received our dishes. My steak was a nice round, fresh, and easy to cut like a filet mignon. My mother-in-law's steak on the other hand was a flat burnt piece of steak. When asked if it was a filet mignon the waiter said yes. Said if she would like, he could go ask the chef to make sure it was a filet mignon or he could have the chef make her a new one. The chef said it was a filet mignon but when you cook it longer it "flattens." Steaks don't go from round and then shrink to flat when you cook it longer fyi. We had them cook her another filet mignon and once again. They brought a steak that was flat and burnt. She decided to cut into it anyway and it was rough and hard and didn't taste good. So it was like they were trying to charge us for a filet mignon but serve us a lower quality piece of steak. The waiter was very receptive and did everything that we asked. The steak was also removed from our bill since it wasn't eaten and we were not satisfied. The service could've still been better though. Whenever we were done with a plate. It stayed on the table the entire time even if the waiter saw it. Typically when you're done with something. The waiter would ask if they could take it so your table isn't constantly being cluttered by dirty dishes. Not once did the waiter ask if we wanted a refill as well. So if you want anything done, you must ask for it instead of getting good quality service. I will say though, the waiter was polite and respectful but improvement still needs to be made. Overall, the experience was unpleasant and I would recommend not eating her. I would rather go to the cheese cake factory, PF Changs, or Texas Roadhouse.

Jen, Savannah and Cyndy made our SuperBowl day one to remember. Everyone was so "genuinely and authentically welcoming" at every turn. They all worked this entire event as if it was a dance perfected over time. Every order was treated with expediency and perfection. The menu was well known and described and our palates were having a party the entire time. This was a huge miss for those who did not think to come into the Bullseye bar at the Black Angus in Montclair. Look up my review on Yelp, as I will go into further detail about food that was ordered and other details. Bottom line, I have nothing negative to report about this place. Not only that, but we will be coming back moving forward on a regular, only because of the consistent service, deliciously prepared food and warm inviting atmosphere. The bathrooms are well-cared-for and attended, and the Manager is very present but does not check in with guests at all. Hummmm.... There is always someone on the Team there to answer any question you might have. Beyond this, and as my pictures will show, this is a great little place to enjoy a game in front of a TV of your own, or a meal in a far awat intimate corner, under warm lighting, and seating that shares an atmosphere of privacy and warmth. I observed plates of prime rib and lobster served that looked and smelled out of this world! The portions were plentiful! We shared the cauliflower appetizer (OMG!), and the potato skins which are beyond anybody else's potato skins. They are meaty, cheesy bacony and delicious! My son enjoyed the wonderful special of the Burger with a beer for $10. You just can't go wrong here. Those of you who have not been there need to step up your game and pay them a visit, particularly during game time! THIS WAS A HUGE WIN WIN. THIS TEAM CANNOT BE BEAT! GREAT JOB TEAL BLACK ANGUS MONTCLAIR!!!!!

We came between lunch and dinner for the campfire dinner for 2 (meant to be shared between 2 people). The brussel sprouts had excellent flavor and texture, better than the much more expensive versions we've had at premium steak houses like Mortens, (but be sure to tell them to hold off on the bacon bits if you don't eat bacon). The sides were fresh and tasty. The salmon and filet mignon cooked perfectly. The service was ok, not great. We went during slow hours when they opened at 3pm, but still several tables were busy too. Overall, we felt very happy with the value and quality and will definitely return, perhaps at dinnertime when there is more ambiance. Wish there existed a way to tip the cooks separately from the server, since the meal was as perfect as could be expected and I would have tipped the cooks. Unfortunately in California and LA, the kitchen barely gets any of the tip as the tip generally goes entirely to the main server, less minimal voluntary tip outs. Groupon has a minor discount available. Note that they are closed for lunch and don't open till 3pm weekdays.

My parents & I went to the Black Angus in Montclair for my birthday dinner. We arrived @ 5:36pm. The place was kind of empty, but my parents told me that we were there early so that was why. We told the young women how many in our party & had to wait a few minutes for our table. My parents got the dinner for 2 which consisted of appetizer to share; their choice of steak each, but only the ounces indicated on the menu. My father ordered 6oz Filet Mignon, & my mom got 8oz Rib Eye. The meal also included 2 sides & a dessert to share. My dad made sure to mention it is my birthday today. Anyway, I ordered the 8oz Prime Rib w/the Fire-Grilled Jumbo Shrimp. For my sides, I got a Garden Salad w/ Ranch & a Loaded Bake Potato which costs extra. My parents' food came out 1st. Mine arrived a few minutes later, all but the shrimp. I didn't mind. It gave me time to finish my salad which was brought out on a blast chilled plate w/a chilled fork. I thought that interesting. I don't think I've ever been to a restaurant that had done that. I tried a couple of appetizers from my parents' sampler platter. I had 2 of the 3 Chipotle Buffalo Chicken Tenders & a Baked Potato Skin because my dad don't like Sour Cream, & it had a dollop on there. Those Chicken Tenders had a bit of a kick because both my mom & I said they were spicy. I thought the Loaded Baked Potato & Prime Rib were good. The Fire-Grilled Shrimp were a little blah. I did have a birthday beverage. I settled on the Moonshine Lemonade. It consisted of Moonshine, In House Made Lemonade, a few slices of Strawberry & a bit of Mint. When the waitress brought it to me, I probably should have given it a good stir. I took a sip thru my straw & tasted mostly alcohol.😝After letting it sit for a few & stirring it well, it tasted much better.😄My mom asked me if I'd order it again. I said "yes", but would let it sit a bit & then stir really well.😄When our waitress returned to find out what my parents wanted for their dessert, she told me I was gonna receive a complimentary cookie because it was my birthday. Ok, I was expecting a small ordinary cookie. Nope, It was a warmed up Chocolate Chip Pan Cookie w/a Scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream. I enjoyed that very much. So, all in all, it was a good dining experience. Sorry, forgot to...

We were a party a Black family of 18 to 20 . OUR SERVICE WAS MISHANDLED. THE WAY MY FAMILY WAS TREATED WAS VERY DEMESNING. It was My 11year old niece birthday. We came from different cities. Fontana, Los Angeles, San dimas. Rancho cumonga.. I'm 58 yrs old and I am disabled. I use a wheelchair and walker. I am employed by the city. My sister is also elderly and disabled employed by the city. Our party waited over an hour to be seated. When I arrived. The wait was about 30mins more. Due to the color of our skin we were made to feel "SINGLED OUT. PLEASE REVIEW THE VIDEO TAPE" Sadly while we looked inside through the window, there was two empty sections. While we waited people were coming in and being seated right away. We were told over the phone that there were no RSVP although the online advertisement stated differently. The store said we should have rsvp.

However, Before we could be seated,we were being confronted about who was paying.. as if we were planning to not pay for our meal. Even worse, water wasn't served to everyone while we we looking over the menu. I am contacting the owner of this location in hopes of a fair resolution. I am requesting you to please reply back to me. I am requesting a full refund for the three meals and drinks that was paid for by my husband. 180.00 we also used a 50.00 gift card. The lobsters I ordered were not accommodating to the price. The double lobster was very small in portions. The acholic beverages were weak and too sweet. My husband ordered the steak. The waiter told him, "You could order the 12oz,it is cheaper", as if she thought we couldn't afford our meal. MY FAMILY was made to feel EMBARASSED, INSULTED, AND DISCRIMINATED AGAINST. I CAN NOT MAKE THEM REQUEST A REFUND NOR CAN I INSIST THWY WRITE THEIR OWN REVIEW ANOUT THEIR OWN PERSONAL EXPERIENCE. BUT, I APPRECIATE A FULL REFUND. I WILL REMOVE THIS POST AFTER MY REFUND HAS BEEN MAILED BACK TO ME . PLEASE RESPOND TO THIS POST SO WE CAN RESOLVE MY COMPLAINT....
