Good Chicken — Restaurant in Montclair

At first glance it may look like an average chicken spot. It is not. We had ordered the potato dog with it being all mozzarella cheese. When they say mozzarella cheese it was 90% cheese, so for all the cheese lovers this is your dog. An 8 piece Korean style wings having the flavor be soy garlic had reminded me a of a Bon Chon flavor but much better done here at Good Chicken. The chicken was not overly coated in flour, which is one thing I do not like from Bon Chon. The popcorn chicken was portioned into good pieces perfectly cooked and shreds so easily, accompanied by their secret sauce which is the orange sauce that has a little kick, makes for great size for children or people who don’t like big strips. The drinks are great especially the tropical mango added with lychee makes this drink so desirable. The tropical mango mojito is carbonated and is a great substitute for soda. It has a great taste, no real aftertaste and the fries are good too. Nothing on this order missed any check marks. I must have driven past this place a thousand times and never noticed it. They should brighten the outside up a bit. Nonetheless, I saw many people visiting this establishment. In and out. A lot of phone or online orders I suppose. Very nice young lady with a nice smile greeted us. We made a good size order for 2 adults and 4 kids for $100. Had to wait about 20 minutes until our order was ready. We tried almost every type of chicken they serve. I can understand why they are rated a 4.8 on Google.com. For me, all the food tasted good but average. I never really care for skinny fries but to each, his or her own. Salt was distributed unevenly. Seems like basic white salt. I work in Newark and have been hearing about this place for over a year as my colleagues would always order from here and rave about how yummy the food is. Just last week I realized they are right by my apartment!!! I ordered to take out and the staff was incredible-from my initial phone call to pick up. I was very impressed by the customer service. Now for the food-EXCELLENT!!! We ordered the hot wings with buffalo sauce on the side and fries. The flavor was great and both the chicken and the fries were cooked to crispy perfection. I am so proud of this business-they offer a yummy product backed by good customer service.
