I agree with the reviews about the rude owner. I kept giving this place a try but I cannot take the rude and unfriendiness of the owner. If you ask a question be prepared to get a rude and vague answer as if your question is a stupid one. This man has no people skills and impatiently stares you down while you're trying to decide what to order from the huge menu billboard that has so many options and requires time for you to read so you will likely have questions. If you ask them he gives you short, dry, vague, deadpan replies as if he wishes you already knew the answer. If you ask for more clarity he simply repeats the first short answer he gave you again with no elaboration. In essence, he's telling you that you have to get all the details you need from his first short and curt reply, and that he isn't going to speak you any more than that. He needs people skills training badly. If you look at the rude responses he's giving to customer complaints on these reviews you can get a sense of how he talks to people. That's probably why the place is always empty. He will not get my...
Read moreI visited for the first time tonight, just to get a bubble tea and read while I waited for the child I babysit to get out of a lesson. The moment I walked in, I kinda got a weird vibe. They chuckled a bit and made comments between each other but that could have been about anything. I ask for a Taro bubble tea with almond milk. The man rings me up for $5.30 for tax and the almond milk, however, the cup was extremely small with few scanty bubbles inside. I paid the man already, but when the woman approached with the bubble tea, she said "$5.60". Luckily I already paid but this random jump in price for this already lacking cup of bubble tea was rather confusing. The store was close to closing, so I asked if there was a chance I could get more bubble if they are getting rid of the rest for close. I was told that would be a charge of $1.00.... for what 5 tapioca bubbles? The vibe overall was really uncomfortable and I am unsure if it was some time of bias issue they had, but don't think I...
Read moreI agree with a user “blue soup”. No other place in that Watchung Avenue area in Monclair requires a mask… The minute I walked in, the man said rudely, “read the sign on door, wear a mask” even though the woman next to him smiled, did not have the mask over her nose, and seemed happy to serve me.
Coincidentally, the pizza place, bagel place, sushi place , and two coffee places both had large crowds but this place was completely empty, (which is why I stopped in cause I’m on my lunch break and needed something quick).
Maybe it’s not “coincidental” that the place is empty whenever I pass by. That’s just bad business and apparently people...
