To be fair I’ll say it’s been quite some time since I visited Bluestone, but being a foodie and bonafide breakfast lover (not to mention someone who likes to patronize independently-owned shops as opposed to the franchises that have worked to slowly all but eradicate the sweet novelty of the “café experience”), I was excited about trying this place out. We were a party of five and after waiting a few short minutes sort of crammed in a corner amidst the hustle and bustle, we were crammed into a booth. After the folks we were there to meet had raved about this place, I was excited, so I reserved any judgment until I’d experienced the food and service. Well, neither met my expectations. Our waiter was devoid of any personality and seemed thoroughly disinterested in general. The food? Mediocre at best. Not impressed- I’ve made better Rosemary Potatoes at home, and the coffee? Realllly not impressed. For a place that’s supposed to be known for its coffee, Bluestone falls quite short of a two thumbs up on the java scale. Sure, you can have your coffee freshly ground for purchase at the counter, and they have a selection of some exotic roasts, but these are things other coffee shops offer. I don’t understand the hype. This place is too small to comfortably accommodate patrons and in light of the quality of the food and service, I don’t intend on returning if I’m in the area. Simply, another overrated venue that will continue to thrive largely on account of an...

First off, I want to say that I was greeted with kindness by the staff and customers, and felt that this place had a very positive community vibe to it. It was nice to see many elderly peeps enjoying their lunches when I stopped by.

However, I feel like I have to leave honest criticism due to the name “Bluestone Coffee Co”. I ordered two iced coffees to go, and one of the coffees I received may have been the worst I have had in the last 5 years (aside from a one off really bad McDonalds coffee). I appreciated that this place has decaf, but whatever was in my coffee was dreadful and almost made me feel sick. Either the syrup or the milk used was well past it’s shelf life, or something was just not working for me.

Sad to have to leave this review since I actually really enjoyed my visit. There’s lots of great coffee around here so I think I expected more from a local...

Bluestone is one of my favorite breakfast/brunch places in NJ. I've been going there for years, and it's my go to for breakfast. The atmosphere, service and food, including their coffee is top notch. It has a nice coffeehouse feel to it. Their coffee (unlimited cups), lattes and chai tea are tasty, and their scones- OMG so good.

The meal options here are vast, and it's nice you can substitute fruit instead of potatoes for your dishes. Their multi-grain toast is a must have, and their jam is beyond addicting. I could eat a bowl of it. I'm a big fan of their egg and turkey sausage cheese wrap. They never disappoint.

Their prices aren't too high and reasonable for the area. It's a great place for everyone- families, kids, couples, or single diners. I adore the Bluestone and have a very high regard for them. Bluestone is in my top 10 dining places to eat at...

Out first visit to this place was for brunch and we found the cafe to be ok (nothing bad, but nothing great); however, we heard really good things about this place and will visit again for lunch instead. Update: Rated this place 3 stars originally. Came back for lunch and really enjoyed my chicken with portobello mushroom and swiss cheese on a French baguette. My wife also enjoyed her coffee and eggplant with portobello mushroom and potato on a French baguette. Throw in the high level of service (friendly waiter freely offering us coffee refills even though they were closing up) and easily a 5 star visit this time (average of 4 stars for now).

What makes this place a 5-star? The friendly service with a smile. This place is very cozy and quaint. It is no wonder that it is a popular joint. I can only imagine how busy it is on the weekends. There are plenty of seating inside and about 3 to 4 tables in front. Latte art is one of the best that I have seen... as it should be or not, but I highly appreciated it. The blueberry scone was crumbly and dry, but with the help of the jam, it made it better. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended and would definitely return.

Tasty breakfast, brunch and lunch spot. We were a group of 4 plus 1 baby on. Sunday lunchtime and were seated right away. If you're a bigger group, then booking is recommended. The food was all good and arrived efficiently, our server was friendly but a slow since it was v busy. They did however bring the food for the baby very quickly. We sampled a variety of savoury and sweet dishes, of which all were good portions and won't leave you hungry. There is seating in and outdoors and a restroom out the back.
