Upon ordering was told no sushi because the person was on vacation then we ordered drinks when drinks arrived. We ordered iced tea in the iced tea was sour not good however they brought us soda afterwards looking at the menu we were told the first five items of the menu were not available. They had no regular steak. We had to order the top of the line steak, which was fillet ribeye or premium steak. All the steaks below that were not available and were no longer available on the menu yet they were listed on the menu, when we received our salads, the dressing had changed. It wasn’t the old dressing. Also we were told they no longer offer bean sprouts because no one was ordering them, but it was something that went with the rice. Not sure why they would take that off the menu since those hardly cost anything Either way I ordered my steak which was a ribeye. It was less than an inch thick and very disappointing because I ordered it medium well and it came well done. The cook was not friendly no smile no nothing no personality. Also, when my mom asked for her fat off of her steak, she was told by the cook Was not possible because he promised it to somebody else. However, it was her fat from her steak. He didn’t wanna give it to her. However he did but reluctant overall food was crummy. Service was crummy. The show was awful. Will never go back again. the prices are outrageous and no price friendly menu. Everything is overpriced for...
Read moreI’ve been going to Toyoko for over 35 years now. I wanted 45 minutes for the server to take my drink order, 6 of thx 8 plates dirty, the server said she dropped the beverages and had to remake, finally took bar order, never asked if we’re wanted appetizers, waited 20 additional minutes for her to take order. My daughter went and spoke to manager to see how much longer for the chief to come out. Said we were next and apologized and offered a discount on the bill. After watching 3 tables the arrived after us be seated and being served we had had enough and decided to walk out without pay for the 2 cocktails ordered, that I didn’t even stick around to finish. Never in the 35 years of going to Toyoko have I gotten such horrible customer service. The management is very unprofessional, unapologetic, incompetent and unable to provide the quality of service the original creators of the Toyoko experience provided for many years. Appears to think the painted walls, fancy murals, and dim lights and instagram post of picture will have a lasting affect and bring customer. This place is lacking managing skills. I have referred many friends and family members to this place and not 1 of them that has been since the rebirth of the original Toyoko have had anything positive to say. This was the 6 and final visit since the rebirth of the ORIGINAL TOYOKO KITCHEN! Don’t waste your time or money....
Read moreToo bad we can't leave 0 stars because that's what it deserves. I had high hopes for the new ownership, but unfortunately they didn't come through. We had a reservation at 6:45pm. We kept getting told it would be available soon. At 7:30pm we asked for another update. They told us almost there. Unfortunately, all the tables were full still and we told them to please be honest on the time. They said it would be another hour. So that would mean our table would be ready by 8:30pm. There excuse was they were sorry but they had quite a few tables ahead of us, and we are a large group. A large group that made a reservation! They did not show any empathy and just said there's nothing they can do. They could have been honest upfront and told us it would be an hour and 45 minute wait for our reservation. Instead they made all of us wait, including kids.
I know it's a new grand opening, so there are always kinks to work out, but overbooking and mismanagement shouldn't be one of them. We watched you sit new tables instead of waiting for enough space to sit our party. You know who you are when you read this. You abused the situation of having a lot of guests waiting, and took advantage of seating what you could instead of following reservations. Good luck! And if don't pick up on sarcasm, I mean I...
