I was and raised in east la/montebello. I have gone to so many bakeries in the area and surrounding areas and have NEVER ever everrrr found a bakery like Chapala. Every single item is fresh! Delicious! Mouth watering. It is so good it is addicting. Place is so clean and nicely organized. I have never even seen a fly. Stop going to your usual bakery and come try this, you will not be disappointed! No questions asked THIS is the best of the best!

Delicious, best in area. They accept debit/credit. Conchas are made throughout day since they sell quickly. Croissants are savory and sweet. They also have good carrot bread and bolillo. Basically every bread is good. Great prices. Don’t go or you’ll become an addict and have to talk yourself out of going every day like my husband and I have to do.

One of the best, if not the best Bakery in the local area. Pan dulce is flavorful & not as pricey as those bakeries in latino-markets selling tasteless/ $1.65 per piece bread (NGate). There may be a line to pay but it goes quickly & worth the effort.

Worst Bakery in LA!

I came in here for a Reyes Magos cake and had the worst experience ever! First off, I came in a day before the the Los Reyes Magos day, which is Jan. 6. The worst service ever, the girl behind the counter had a horrible attitude, as if I was a bother to her for coming in. As you walk into this place, they have their bread placed on the sides of the walkway. I've never seen bread so stale and bland! After finally putting in my order for a large King's cake, the girl quotes me $48. I said "what?!" She said it's what it costs for a large cake, I couldn't believe it. I had read such good reviews of this place for it to then disappoint me.

Came in the day after to pick up my cake, absolutely pandemonium. Line stretched out all the way out the establishment, parking (again) was abysmal. After standing in line for 30 minutes, Some dude walks up and gives his receipt to the girl behind the counter and wants to cut everyone in line. I politely say there's a line. He looks at me disgusted and says I already paid for it. I tell him, we all did. that's why we're in line. All of this goes on without anyone behind the counter saying anything. The girl behind the counter then takes my receipt and looks around to ask someone where my cake is. the pick-up specifically states 5:00 PM! I was right on the dot! She then asks some dude in the back which is taking out a fresh batch of cakes. I ask why don't i just grab one of the new ones, they refuse and run to the front of the store where they have cakes stacked up. It was the worst bakery I've ever had to deal with. I will forever stay away from this place. I understand Los Reyes Magos day is already a hectic day to begin with but the management and ownership could've done a way better job of handling lines, the people and they're regular every day business. They could care less about everyone, they all looked to seem to hate working there. FROM ONE YELPER TO ANOTHER, STAY AWAY...

Unfortunately I had the worse experience we just came and asked for 100 little conchas for my uncles funeral today the cashier was very rude i was in shock ! she said we dont have any! in a bad way, the Baker heard and he said I will have them in 1 hour I said thank you to the Baker but the rude cashier said I cant take the order you have to come in 1 hour and see if we have some left!! I told her it's not hard for her to take my money and when thet are done I will pick them up, she said no if they are some left you can buy them ! shock! I asked for the manager in charge and no one was in charge i asked for the owner's number she ignored me ! If you dont want to be treated like this DO NOT SHOP THERE no matter what my mother says the bread is good but not good enough to get abused by the cashier its 10:30am on Friday June 14 I hope the owner reads this and either train the staff to be respectful to his customers or loose...

The bread is excellent but there lazy habits of not wiping down & disinfecting the tongs people use is gross. They use to do it consistently during COVID. But my biggest issue is when the savage customers leave bread display doors wide open and people start speaking over the bread. I think they should either fix the doors to automatically close on there own or they should reprimand those people who don't have any manners or courtesy. I would highly encourage this business to have all customers wear masks since many people from around the community can't seem to show respect for others. I'm not saying all people don't show respect n manners but a good bunch do talk over the trays of bread when I've gone.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ For bread quality.

⭐⭐⭐ To owner and staff for not implementing better hygienic practices with the...
