Mariscos El Zurdo — Restaurant in Montebello

It's a little street corner spot that can easily be missed or may not seem too appealing but the food is great! The service was nice & friendly, the space was clean and pleasant. Went on a Sunday afternoon and there was plenty of parking. All the food we had was delicious. But in order of bestest... to still good: shrimp tacos, fish tacos, ceviche de pescado, taco al pastor, taco gobernador, shrimp ceviche. And we got fries on the side. The best shrimp tacos I have had are in Cancun... but these were almost as good 🤤 I will definitely come back...

This may be a no fancy frill place but my taste buds were treated to one of the best mexican ceviches I have had since I moved here 15 years ago. The flavorful hot home made salsa that accompanies this fresh fish makes the experience even better. Yes, my new to go spot for freshly marinated fish with real lime juice that that fake stuff. The cilantro , tomatoes and onions were all fresh. Once you find a great ceviche spot loyalty follows. What a great find!!! Best part is family owned. I do love supporting mom...

We learned about Mariscos El Zurdo from our Uber driver, whose mom runs the kitchen and operates the restaurant. The place itself is so cute! You order at a window and can sit outside under a covered patio. There is a great selection of hot sauces including La Perrera which I’ve never seen anywhere besides TJ!
