Rivers Edge Saloon & Eatery — Restaurant in Montello

So, I absolutely loved this place. I have eaten here many times and I order mainly the same thing., a gyro and fries. Today I ate there and they brought me out a pile of grease. I wish I would have taken a picture of it. I am by no means a picky eater or complain, but this was unacceptable. I took a couple of bites and could not even choke it down. My girlfriend cringed when she heard me take my first bite. It sounded like a was grinding rocks with my teeth. The waitress never came over to ask how the meal was, and now we know why. The waitress was extremely rude and said that nothing has changed but the owners and the pita bread was bigger. The service was very questionable. Nobody checked on us. Most of the staff just sat at the bar uninterested in business and their customers. On the way out, instead of trying to fix the problem or apologize, they acted like we were the ones wrong for getting unacceptable food and service. I wouldn't have given them a 1*, but the river...

I understand being short staffed and working long hour, however you don't treat your customers the way you did. Not sure if it was because we are visiting from out of town or what. The manager didn't have a cook so she was making the food. Our fried food came out in three minutes and was cold ( Mac and cheese bites) when I asked it we could order another basket ( because there were hardly any in the first basket and we had 4 people) she rolled her eyes and returned to the kitchen. We only got the original basket that was placed back into the fryer because there was a bite that one us took out of the food. They kept trying to push us out " you ready for your bill?" Can I have another drink? Yeah.... Comes back five minutes later asking if we want another drink and we just said no. Walked out and will never be back. Last year they were so friendly and we enjoyed it so much that we went back.......

Deliveries beware! We called in for a delivery of 2 fish dinners and a chicken wrap at 6:10PM. Called back at 7:20PM to check on the status of our order, as it has never taken more than an hour when we’ve ordered before. Was told our order was up next and that it should be delivered soon. Food was not delivered for another 40 minutes! I understand that restaurants get busy as I have worked in the service industry for years. It was clear our order had been forgotten about or continually pushed back because I seriously doubt anyone would be willing to wait nearly 2 hours for an in-house meal. Deeply disappointed how the situation was handled and unfortunately we will not be patronizing this...
