I’ve been a customer for years since the old location. I come a handful of times per month because the food is delicious. Never had an issue worthy enough to leave a review until now. I brought a coworker here and found it very embarrassing that the seating area smelled strongly of sewage pipes. That odor was not suitable for an area where you should be enjoying your food. The male that takes the phone orders is always very helpful. However, every time a female answers they’re not very customer friendly. I find the older female slightly rude. My bf never wants to call to place the order because of his experiences with her. I phoned in an order and asked if the combo plate can be substituted from chicken to beef the answer was no, no substitutions on the meat got it not a problem. I proceeded to check the menu and saw a mini plate of the type of meat I was trying to get, which could’ve been suggested I believe. When I tried to add that to my order the younger female who was assisting me responded “we don’t have the mini option at the moment only the medium or the large”. I didn’t understand how it’s on the menu, currently only available in a bigger option. It would make sense if I was trying to get a large and they only had enough for a medium or a mini. When I showed up for my order I asked where was the logic behind only having a bigger option available when I was trying to get a smaller option. The younger female responds was “everything is portioned prior so we would rather not separate for the inconvenience”. I found this very absurd that they rather not sell what the customer wants and is going to pay for because they can’t take the time to separate something. Since they moved to this new location I’ve always said the customer service was much better at the old location. The younger females at the previous location were always very helpful, made suggestions, and were very attentive although it was a much smaller space. I stand by...
Read moreStopped in to grab dinner for my daughter and I the other night. We'd been here a couple times before, always relatively pleased with our meals. We shared a chicken teriyaki bowl and some "new" Teri fries. The bowl was good, chicken was moist and flavorful, but the tsukemono was a bit mild for my taste, would have preferred a bit more punch. I was interested in trying the fries because I've had a couple different versions of teriyaki fries from other establishments and wanted to see what their take would be. Unfortunately, it was quite boring, a clamshell full of fries and a small container of teriyaki sauce to spread over them, nothing more. The more impressive teriyaki fries I've seen usually have some other accompaniment, an additional mayo based sauce, some choice garnish, or something more than fries and teriyaki sauce.
While not excited by my last meal with them, i will certainly be back to...
Read moreVery filling plates! The meat was tender. The sauces were good and aplenty. Portions are fair for the price. New location next to Bomb chicken on Garfield. Parking lot seems to get busy during peak times but there’s a neighborhood and the main streets you can always park along as well. Inside has plenty of seating, esp great for big groups or families. Lots of booster seats and high chairs available. No outdoor seating. It’s a casual local vibe here. Salmon wasn’t over cooked. Beef was flavorful. Soba was refreshing on a hot day! The soba sauce was a little lemon-y which I loved! A medium plate was more than enough for me. I wish they opened later because this would be a great dinner option.
Great lunch option if...
