Sushi Kokoro Japanese Restaurant — Restaurant in Monterey Park

Food was great, our server was super sweet girl. But the manager was so rude. She brought out 2 bento boxes, our table ordered 2 beef plates. She got angry because my friend was confused. We offered to accept the bento but she refused to bring it back. Our server apologized because she said the lady was the manager and her word was final. We then proceeded to request a can of white peach drink which had alcohol. We had ordered one previously our server told us they could not sell it to us. They didn't even bring out the shrimp fried rice and other items we ordered. Probably because the manager was angry. We were supposed to be angry, our food was 45minutes late. The sushi came out fast but not the hot food. She was very mean to us and her staff so I'll be honest she needs an attitude change. For someone running a restaurant she needs to keep her anger in check. Not go off on people and her staff infront of everyone. It wasn't even busy when we were there. Since she refused to sell to us I paid the bill after telling the manager I refused to pay for items we never received. She removed it but she was mad. Again not my fault we ordered if there was an issue she again should've checked instead of taking out her anger on us and the wait staff. I won't be coming back it's very nice restaurant food was alright. But I can't deal with people will use their anger to refuse to sell food and deliver on...

Mediocre sushi with unexpected flavors.

I wanted to try something new in my area and Kokoro showed up with several 5 star reviews. I did feel a little pressure to write a good review to get free Mochi ice cream, but withheld because it wouldn't be my honest opinion.

The service was great because we were the only ones in the restaurant. The businesses in this plaza don't get as much attention as it deserves.

The ambiance tries to be fancy with chandelier lighting, but the quality of the sushi didn't suit the vibe. We ordered the Bridge Combo which came with rolls filled with cream cheese. I don't particularly enjoy my rolls with cream cheese. That's my fault. I should have asked what will be included in the "chef's choice" before ordering. The presentation of their dishes is beautiful, but doesn't justify the price for me.

The Jelly Drink (ice) was not what I was expecting. It tastes like seltzer water with cherry/strawberry purée. Tiny bits of jelly float on the bottom.

Unfortunately, I don't think I would come back despite my conflicting thoughts to support this...

I was craving sushi, and so while I was in Monterey Park area, I came across Kokoro. I was greeted by a very nice lady who took me to my table. She was very sweet, and as she brought me me my menu; I was delighted by all the delicious items offered on the menu 😋. The noodles and various sushi items really added to my appetite. I chose to feast on noodles Odon 🍜 including sushi 🍣. My server advised me that this may be a bit too much food & politely advised the bento box instead. I chose the bento box consisting of salmon, tempura & steamed rice . I was happy 😊 to take her advice as this scrumptious delight proved to be more than I could handle. I even took some home. I also tried this green ice cream desert, which was & added delight. I thanked her & her gifted cooks who prepared my scrumptious dinner. I left feeling satisfied 😌 & 😊. If you want a place with a pleasant atmosphere, spacious dining area for family & friends ,good service & amazing Japanese food with reasonable prices, come on, down to Kokoro, you...
