I hate to do this but Popeyes apparently has NO OTHER WAY of filing complaints when their employees don’t give reciepts. I was a little bothered with the issue initially but now that I’ve spent over an hour trying to figure out who to contact to get it resolved, I’m livid!!! I went to file a BBB complaint, but apparently this location isn’t registered with the BBB. Imagine my surprise at that info.
My problem is that I went to the drive thru and ordered a 20 piece pickled, hot wing meal. I was told I’d have to wait eight minutes. No biggie. I proceeded to pull up and pay for my order. The total was over $21. I didn’t think too much of it until I pulled forward and realized I wasn’t given a reciept. Since it was pouring rain, I just crossed my fingers and hoped my order would be perfect. I waited more than 10 minutes, two cars after me got their food before me AND my order was COMPLETELY jacked up!!! I wasn’t given a meal, I was given a 12 piece and a dessert biscuit that I also ordered. I was missing the biscuit AND eight of my wings!!! When the young lady approached my car with the order I asked her if this was a 20 piece and she assured me it was.
I’m not sure how to rectify this, as I have no reciept but my debit card was definitely charged. I’m seeking a refund, because at this point it’s no longer about them screwing up my order and not giving me a reciept. As a business owner, I’d want to know how my business is being run when I’m not present. How else do you get praise or complaints if customers have to spend hours to figure out how to contact anyone at all!?!? If I haven’t heard from someone, I’m going to have to return to the facility. I hate to be that person, but it’s beyond the food. This is about taking advantage, stealing from customers, and disregarding...
Read moreI got to Popeyes in Montgomery on Tuesday February 2nd on S. Blvd. around 1230 after leaving a Dr's appointment with my mother. Although everyone was super nice the chicken was a disaster. I ordered 40 dollars worth of food. My mother lives in Greenville and i live in Georgiana. So of course we had to take the interstate and anout 5 minutes into the ride my mother begin to eat and grease was all over her hands. She says it's old. Well of couse i wasn't going to turn around plus I gave them the benefit of the doubt and figured mine would be ok. Needles to say mine was so greasy but again i figured maybe the taste will suffice for my troubles. NOPE it didn't even taste like Popeye's Chicken. Oh how bad i felt to have spent all that money. I truly feel that managers don't wanna get in trouble with too much waste count. But here's the thing when something is old...DON'T sell it to ppl. Plus if u wouldn't eat it why would u give it to...
Read moreSame old, same old in Montgomery. I showed up to Popeyes at 9:00 PM, a full hour before their posted closing time of 10:00 PM, only to find the doors already locked. The staff was inside, just chilling in the lobby, clearly done for the night — despite the fact that they were supposed to be open.
This kind of behavior is exactly what fuels negative stereotypes, and it’s exhausting to keep seeing them play out. As a Black customer trying to support Black workers and Black-operated locations, I hold us to a higher standard — and it’s incredibly frustrating when basic business practices like honoring store hours aren’t being followed.
We’ve got to do better. There’s too much potential and too much pride in our community to keep letting things like this slide. I say this with love, but also with real disappointment.
Montgomery, it’s time...
