Buckaroos Slices & Scoops — Restaurant in Montrose

If this place doesn't get five stars, no place should. We were staying across the street and wanted some pizza. So we walked across to Buckaroo and were just blown away. The pizza is great, sure. The ice cream was beyond good, too. But all of it was brought together through service that was just incredible. We ended up ordering ice cream which we ate before the pizza was even finished and we chatted with the worker behind the counter. By the time we got our pizza, we had planned out at least two future visits to get menu items that we couldn't try all in one trip. If you're making your way through Montrose, stop here. If you're a local, hopefully you already know about this place and have it in your regular rotation.

Items: Medium cheese pizza: not too cheesy, with a mildly sweet sauce and soft, fluffy crust and crispy underside. Ice cream: cake batter ice cream with chocolate frosting swirl, in a waffle cone dipped in white chocolate and Halloween-themed sprinkles. I’ve been supporting this place since the day it opened but the last three times it’s been horrible - less than one star!! Amd when I called they just blew me off- blaming me - there was no sauce at all on the pizza- the website lets you chose extra sauce light sauce so as they didn’t have normal sauce of course that would come on the pizza. Nope none. The website presets to half toppings so I payed for pepperoni pineapple and sausage and cut double and out of an entire pizza three of the double cut pieces had meat literally 6 pieces of sausage maybe four pieces of pepperoni and I counted three pieces of pineapples. I ordered and paid for ranch none was in the pizza box and when I called the store they said well we can’t do anything about all these issues - such very pour customer service. This place is going down hill and fast. A store worth their weight would have sent out a corrected pizza...

My wife, adult daughter, and I stopped in for ice cream after a day at Black Canyon. We each got 2 scoops of ice cream in a bowl. They are very generous with their scoops - that was a lot of ice cream. Between us, we had 5 different flavors, including vanilla, chocolate, espresso, mule tracks, and one other dark chocolate ice cream with lots of add-ins that I can't remember the name of. All of the flavors were excellent. The service was great - quick and friendly. The space is very small with just 3 small tables, each with two chairs. There was 1 other couple there already eating when we arrived. If all 6 seats were used, it would be tight. I would definitely recommend this place, just realize that, if it's busy, you may have to eat outside or...
