Not sure where to start honestly. Mexican food is my all time favorite cuisine. I’m beyond confused at the number of good reviews this place has received… from start to finish, this meal was subpar — and FAR from “traditional Mexican food” like everyone else has been saying. Based on the sloppy photos many people had posted, I didn’t want to come here, but based on the number of good reviews, my husband forced me to come here. I was told to try their queso - “it’s the best,” they said. What a joke. With the consistency of milk and an absolute lack of flavor, I wouldn’t recommend it. The chips aren’t salted (great for our cardiac patients, so I guess salt your own). Our meals were all subpar too. An overall lack of flavor seemed to be a common theme across the board. Sucks we drove 1.5 hours to try this.

We were tired after a long day and Mi Mexico Restaurant fit the bill for our dinner. They shared the parking lot with our hotel, which meant that we could stay parked near our room and just walk over. It was later than dinner hour, so they were not busy. The restaurant is cute inside with painted scenes on the backs of the chairs, which provides a cheerful atmosphere. The food was good too, and reasonably priced. I had a side order Chili Relleno and another of rice and beans. This was generous enough to be filling. There is a selection of burgers too, for those who would rather. There is a fully stocked bar with Happy Hour daily starting at 3. There is also a kids menu. They open at 11 daily so they serve lunch and dinner. The Parking Lot is shared and large, and restrooms are satisfactory.

Very clean and beautifully decorated. The staff were very attentive and the service was excellent. The mushroom pico de gallo with the chips was different and more flavorful (delicious) than others I've had. The serving size was very good even with my big appetite. I had the Burrito al Pastor with sopapillas on the side. There was nothing wrong with the flavors in my burrito but nothing to write home about. I, personally, would have liked to have had more spicy heat in my burrito, and more layers of flavor, but even the jalapeños had no heat to them. The sopapillas seemed more like a flour tortilla cut into quarters and fried instead of being made the traditional way. Overall a "nice" culinary experience but lacking just enough to keep it from reaching the "Great" experience level.

I can't express enough how disappointed I was in this Mexican food experience, which happens to be my favorite type of food. I'm surprised by the many good reviews, and this place was referred to me by a local, too.

What shocked me was the intentional effort to make a small amount seem more.

The salsa was so watered down, that I had to put the whole bowl under my chin so that I would not spill everywhere. See the picture. I ordered the queso, and as you can see by the photo, it was the same situation. Again, I had to put the whole bowl under my mouth. Worse yet, the queso is most definitely NOT house made. It was either that cheap can of nacho sauce that you can get at Sam's or it was canned nacho cheese soup. Really terrible tasting. That cheese had never seen the side of a cow.

Then I ordered the "divorced" enchiladas. The plate was so large and looked extremely impressive. But again, the restaurant skimped and made it look large. There was barely 1/4 inch high of meat inside each one. Then too much sauce was used on top to make it look like a lot was on the plate.

I really felt duped.

(Sorry, I can't get the photos to attach. Photo option doesn't show upon reviewing. Then tried to edit the review and attach that way, but then it wouldn't let...

Fast friendly efficient service clean colorful really radiated a cheerful Spanish Mexican flavor the bright colors and it was like bright and shiny not a new place certainly well-maintained professionally well-kept I'm assuming by the efficient staffthoroughly enjoyable the food was hot the place for hide it was well presented and deelishis my friend felt basically the same waywhy and it was especially enjoyable cuz it was my first sit-down dinner in the city that has been my home for the last two years other than maybe a quick bite at a fast-food joint a few times . and just to top off the meals we had like a complete plate full of food of course sauce dip and fresh crisptasty tortilla chipsand a fairly inexpensive price to me it was like less than $11 a piece for the complete meal and the experience they get five stars and certificate of excellence from yours trulynot that I ever recommend restaurants on Facebook this is probably my very first one might have something to do with the fact that it was only my second sit-down dinner in about 2 years out at a restaurant other than a...

First time eating here tonight. The setting is authentic and clean. The staff are welcoming and friendly. Carmen was our waitress and was knowledgeable about the menu. They served something interesting with the chips and salsa...brand new and pleasing to our palates, was like a Mexican tapenade. I had the seafood chimichanga and my husband had beef chimichanga and a Chile relleno. The seafood chimichanga had alot of shrimp and small scallops with sauteed veggies and an amazing white sauce over the top, served with traditional beans and rice...and mild Cole slaw...was wonderful! The beef chimichanga had well seasoned ground beef and red sauce on top alacarte. The relleno sauce was my favorite part of their relleno alacarte, super delicious, we ordered it crispy but maybe should have gone with the soft option (think that is the traditional one). The cost of our meal was reasonable and worth it! This place is a...
