Cold Stone Creamery — Restaurant in Montrose

First, I'm a huge fan of Cold Stone Creamery's ice cream! Whether the delicious coffee, the delectable dark chocolate or the bright limited-time Meyer Lemon flavor, you just cannot go wrong! Their ice creams are premium, made frequently so they're creamy and perfect eating temperature, without lots of ice crystals, Like every Coldstone, you get your flavor with mix-in(s) made to order. This night I tried their mocha ice cream with brownies mixed in - just heavenly. The ice cream is their coffee ice cream mixed in their chocolate base, the clerk tells me, and it is a rich coffee flavor with a nice chocolate background flavor. The brownies are always deliciious. My other party member had one of their pre-set specialty offers, still made-to-order; cookie dough ice cream (with NO cookie dough!) with a dollop of whipped icing in the center of the mass of ice cream, covered in rainbow sprinkles. It was excellent too - the ice cream was a frozen cookie dough, buttery undertones with a balanced sweetness and the toppings were a bonus. Never missed the chocolate chips! I had an electronic BOGO, which made this a very inexpensive trip to frozen heaven. I only gave the 4 stars tonight for the long wait. This was a weekend evening, within an hour or so of closing, and when we walked in, there was one clerk at the counter and no one else in sight. The 2 couples, then family of 6 were helped and then it was our turn, at last. I inquired of the very pleasant and unruffled young man as to why he was on alone on a Friday night. He informed me that the one other clerk on duty was on break and was off-site. He handled everyone's orders in a timely and friendly manner; I just think one clerk with a very long line on a Friday evening should never happen. Not fair to the patrons...

We are concerned! Is this location closing down? We went twice this weekend and both times they were completely out of all cakes and were out of almost every flavor ice cream! In addition they didn't even have waffle cones!

The staff there is always super pleasant but if this store is going to continue to do business they need to get it managed properly. We decided to eat whatever of the 5 flavors of ice cream they had left but as we were being served we watched at least 12 people come in and leave because there was no ice cream or cones.

This location has always been busy everytime we have ever been and we really hope that it succeeds as when it does have ice cream...

We went to Cold Stone this evening and feel the blonde female who was working did not want to make anything. When we walked in, a male was about to serve us, however, the female popped out from the back and rudely asked if we had our masks. Unfortunately, we didn't this time, so she told us to leave. We understood the concern and left. However, after leaving, I looked inside the window and they were staring at us through the door with their masks then off. Very poor service and complete hypocrisy. If they were genuinely concerned, they wouldn't have removed their masks.
