Curry Mouth is a wonderful family-owned and operated business in Moon (very close to the Pittsburgh airport and about 20 minutes from Pittsburgh). It’s run by Kate, Kern, and their children. You can really feel the passion that the two have for their restaurant.
The space is bright and very clean, and there is more than enough parking. The food is quality, made by real hands and sprinkled with love. It’s fresh, comforting, and it feels like a home-cooked meal. I and my family are from Trinidad, so Curry Mouth is like an oasis we’ve been waiting on for so many years!
I personally recommend the curry chicken with potato, chana, and the “buss-up shut” roti, which is so soft and warm and will literally make your taste buds dance. I always wash it down with a Solo soft drink. The doubles, sort of like a Trini soft taco (not exactly, but just so you have an idea), are also incredible! My dad can vouch for the pelau, a delicious rice dish. You really can’t go wrong with whatever you choose.
The flavors are amazing, but if you are new to Caribbean food, don’t be intimidated! Curry Mouth truly is for everyone, whether you are a born-and-raised Trini or a Pittsburgher who might be a little scared to try something new. And best of all, you know that with each visit you are supporting your...
Read moreRUN to Curry Mouth right now! This restaurant is a hidden gem and a loving flavorful punch to the mouth! Today was my first time trying it so I ordered Boneless Curry Chicken with rice (available with roti and with bone-in chicken), Stewed chicken, BussUpShut Roti skin, Pholourie, and sorrel. I'm more of an Asian foodie but this has shown me a love for food from Trinidad and Tobago that I didn't know I had ❤️🇹🇹
The chicken curry- SO FLAVORFUL. These meals weigh about 2 lbs and are going to feed me all weekend. The curry has chickpeas and rice. Stewed chicken-AMAZING. Comes with red beans, rice, and macaroni & cheese bake. LIFE CHANGING. BussUpShut Roti skin- Perfect partner to these main dishes! Use it to scoop up the food and seal that bite with a present of love for your tongue. Pholourie- Never heard of her and I'm so glad we crossed paths. Fried dough balls commonly eaten as a snack with the tangiest tamarind sauce to dip them in. CHEFS KISS Sorrel- PARTY IN THE MOUTH 🎉 A hibiscus drink that is SWEET and just lovely! Absolutely refreshing. Solo soda is available in numerous flavors as well and the banana is DEVINE.
Again!! Please RUN to this restaurant and show your love to the sweetest gentleman I've ever met! The food...
Read moreAmazing! We cannot wait to visit again. I've wanted to visit for a while and my husband took me for my birthday. This was one of the most pleasant and welcoming restaurant experiences I have ever had. I knew we had made a great choice from the moment we walked in the door and were enthusiastically greeted. We ordered the All Inclusive Sampler to share because everything sounded great and we didn't know where to start. It was a wonderful way to try a bit of everything. Every bite we had we would say, "This is my favorite thing" and then try a bite of something else and say, "No, this is my favorite." Everything was so full of flavor! I tend to subconsciously save my favorite bite for last and chose to end with the Pholourie. So, maybe that was ultimately my favorite? In any case, do yourself a favor and...
