AAFES Exchange — Local services in Moon Township

This BX is very nice. Staff is always friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. It has a lot of great alcohol choices and variety. They have all your typical snacks. There is a modest section for outdoor things such as gardening and grilling. Next to that, there is a small electronics section. As with all BXs, there is a section for military clothing and gear. Here is the reason I gave only two stars: This BX is meant support two air force wings, an army reserve station and a NOSC. Despite the air force personnel outnumbering the army personnel 4:1, the vast majority of available insignia at the BX is army.  I'd say less than 10% is actually AF and it's mainly just rank with about 7 AFSC badges. The pic I posted of the Insignia wall is the most amount of and most variety I've ever seen there. Normally there a just few blues strips for E-2s, E-3s and E-9s. Again, not even really applicable to the majority or type of the AF rank actually needed. I know several of the members just from my squadron have approached staff there about getting more AF rank, devices, and AFSC badges to which the reply was "It's really not up to us. We don't have control over that."  While that may be the case, then to whomever "does have control over that", this is unacceptable. There should only be rare exceptions for having to special order typical insignias online, not the rare exception of actually finding ABU staff sergeant stripes at the BX that is a stone's throw from your installation. Please create a more reasonable balance of goods that is actually based on your clientele. I would love to update my review. But as of today, you never have what I need. And get some navy...

This is a Military Exchange EXPRESS Store dedicated mostly to selling military UNIFORMS and ALCOHOL. Comparable to a Class Six store and Shoppette found on other military installations. The store includes a very limited selection of toiletries, snack and sundry items. Limited electronics isle carrying televisions, laptops and cellphone accessories. Dedicated area for seasonal outdoor products (grills, lawn and garden tools etc.). Self serve coffee, soda and beverage area that also includes milkshakes, hotdogs and hot snacks. Cigars and cigarettes are available, though electronic cigarettes, vapes, Jules etc. are not stocked. *The Barber shop is no longer open. ** The Uniform Sales is primarily dedicated to stocking Army Reserve and PA Army National Guard uniforms and accessories. For starters this store is not much more than a package store with a few uniform supplies. Beyond that I was there to return merchandise purchased online and when arriving at 0900 hours when they were supposed to open, they didn't open (despite several employees walking around) until 0905. When I asked where I go to return an item I was told I couldn't do a return until 1000 hours and when I said they need to call someone to either get the employee in sooner or to walk them through how to do a return they said it they were calling anyone it would be the police.
