I ate lunch there today after church. I have not been there in 2 years. I must say and I am a kind Christian person but the food was terrible. My steak was raw and my fish was under cooked. The vegetables were from out of the can. The owner was a disrespectful defensive person who made every excuse about my legitimate complaints. He complained about how much he spends on his steaks. He complained about how high all hus costs were. He charged me $21.95 for a ribeye steak on his menu priced at $19.95. I argued with him explaining I would have not ordered the ribeye if I thought it was $21 95. He then tells me he spent $13.95 to purchase it. You cant make this up. Stay away from there until a new owner is there. The server was great, a young woman who did all she could to make my experience pleasant. After she felt comfortable engaging with me she explained how terrible the owner treated her. This restaurant used to be a great southern comfort food establishment that is now owned by a man that could not care less about his staff or patrons. I ordered a ribeye medium rare.. it came out raw. I also ordered flounder that also was under cooked. The owner did not want to honor my on line coupon...he claimed he never agreed to it. Do not go there to eat until this place is under new ownership. Another server was speaking very loud on her cell phone while sitting at a table. Another server was smoking a cigarette outside at a table. She just looked at me as I walked in. This place is a disaster. I will be calling local government agencies to have...
Read moreWhen Mike owned this place, it was at least consistent with food quality and hours of operation. Again tonight, I tried to call in an order to go around 8:30 p.m. Their website states they close at 10:00 p.m. For the second time in a few weeks, no one would answer the phone So, I drove there, since it's close to my house, and saw workers in the restaurant who were obviously ignoring the phone in orders. When I tried to speak with the female who was up front at the cash register, she simply waved me off and said we're closed, no more. This is the second time this has happened. Their website says they close at 10:00 p.m. Yet they close before 9:00 p.m. False advertisement. This used to be a respectable establishment. Never will I go back or ever recommend this place to anyone. They'll be out of business within a year as I predict. It's time for a real home town restaurant take over this place who sincerely cares about it's patrons and have so over the years. Do not support this establishment. The owners are not locals. They're simply foreigners just trying to take your money with false...
Read moreMy husband and I walked into Hometown Restaurant on Sunday and were immediately put off. A man in the kitchen was obnoxiously yelling âOrder up!â loud enough to shake the walls. It wasnât welcoming â it was chaotic.
A young waitress walked right by us without a word or smile. She looked at us like we had three heads â completely ignored us.
Then the cook came out into the lobby⌠and that was the last straw. He was wearing a dirty gray tank top (no apron), covered in sweat, tattoos showing, long greasy hair in ponytail and reeked like he had slept in a sewer for days. He looked like heâd just crawled out of a landfill and hadnât bathed in a week. Worse, he was jumping around like he was on something, acting totally erratic â and had the nerve to ask us what we wanted to eat.
No way. Not from someone looking and smelling like that. We got out of there fast! It felt more like a horror movie than a restaurant....
