Carla's Bakery and Mexican Food — Restaurant in Moorpark

It is a self service eatery for the most part. You order and they deliver it to your table. Very efficient in that regard. The menu has many different choices to select from, and the prices are very reasonable, especially for the serving size you receive. My favorite has been the Chile Rellano plate, while my wife loves the Pasolle that comes served in a very large bowl. Alas, the days of free chips and salsa have come to an end at most Mexican eateries, including Carla's. Not a deal breaker though. I tried the beef enchiladas on my last visit, they were surprisingly tasty also, the combo plate comes with three for $12.99. That's a pretty good deal. My wife usually picks up some of their baked goods before leaving. Her favorites are the large sugar cookies, though they have a host of sweet bread (Pan dulce) to choose from. If you enjoy loud Mariachi music, then you will feel right at home dining at Carla's Bakery...

Cute bakery and restaurant combo. The menu has a nice selection to choose from yet simple. It’s walk up style which is always a bummer for me since the dinning are is large and has so much potential. I dinned in and took some food home as well. For the stay I enjoyed the shrimp cheviche tostadas. It was good but I wish it had more juice to it. The shrimps were kinda dry. For the to go I got the fajitas mixed and beef sopes. The fajitas could have had more flavor / seasoning to it. Kinda tasted plain. But the portion was large. The sopes were loaded up with meat 🥩 and toppings as well. The sope itself was kinda soggy but it’s to be expected as a to go order but it could have been fired for a bit longer for a more crunchy texture. Over all I’d comeback and try a few more things. The girl up front was friendly and nice with a pleasant voice as well...

I was in Moorpark yesterday morning, which is unusual since I live in East LA. I had a tiny little crew working and we needed breakfast. I suggested breakfast burritos and we all agreed that would be convenient.

So I pull up my Google search and I find the closest open place that serves breakfast burritos. I find Carla’s bakery. DELICIOUS Maybe the best breakfast burrito I’ve ever had. It was like melt in your mouth delectable.

Also with the quickness. I ordered it takeout and it was ready in like 3 minutes, which was super cool.
