Yummy Hawaiian BBQ — Restaurant in Moorpark

Yummy Hawaiian BBQ is a great spot to pick up incredibly tasty meat options for a super reasonable price. It was our first time eating there, we got the family meal with 3 meat choices. We chose the BBQ Beef, BBQ Chicken, Short Rib and it comes with Rice and their Mac Salad. Our favorite item was the BBQ Beef by far! It had so much flavor and was the easiest to eat. The BBQ Chicken and Short Rib were also fantastic. The rice was fine, regular white rice. The Mac Salad was by far our least favorite. It was bland and was basically just a filler item. We thought it was surprising that everything meat wise was so good but the Mac Salad wasn't even on par with the grocery store... We will absolutely be back, Yummy Hawaiian BBQ is a great choice for a group of friends or a couple looking to have leftovers. My personal suggestion is get the family meal. For 35 bucks it's a killer deal. We will be asking next time if we can get vegetables as a side instead of the Mac Salad. The meats sit on a bed of cabbage and broccoli. This was WAAAY better than the Mac Salad in our opinion. More veggies would make this a much better meal. Even if it costs a couple more bucks, we would happily pay it to have meat/veggie/rice combo and get rid of the Mac Salad. They piled you chicken katsu on the chicken katsu plate! Most BBQ places in Hawaii can only offer a winning chicken row, a rice meal, and a dollop of macaroni salad. This place has two rows of winner chicken, two tablespoons of rice, and one tablespoon of macaroni salad. This definitely allows you to have enough for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! My husband ordered the Hawaiian BBQ mix. It comes with chicken and ribs. She finished the chicken, but it was so full she had to save the ribs for later use. This is surprising, because he ate everything without wanting to eat the leftovers. Overall, the price is really good value for money. I will definitely be back. Support your local...

Place is located in a shopping center so parking might be tight when it's busy. Customer service was friendly. Food was great and portions were generous. We ordered Chicken Katsu, Kalua Pork, and Katsu Chicken & Beef to go. The kids loved the Katsu chicken. Wife loved the Kalua pork. The beef was tender and flavorful. The Katsu sauce was good but the teriyaki sauce looked almost like soy sauce because it wasn't thick. It wasn't a big deal because I have teriyaki sauce at home.
