The shows are always spectacular, and the talent is astounding. My mother buys season tickets every year for our family of 5, so my young children can enjoy the shows. For opening night of Beauty and the Beast, the show was incredible. However, customer service at the concession needs improvement. The line was long, and by the time it was my turn, they ran out of popcorn. The lady told me they were going to make more, and I could come back. Just as the curtain went up, I went back out to get popcorn for my kids as they were just closing. I could see a bag of popcorn already made inside the machine with plenty of popcorn. She told me concession was closed and refused to sell the popcorn, even when I reminded her it ran out earlier. She said I could come back during intermission. I chose not to, since it would be my third time attempt, and who knew if they would run out again. My children (6, 5, and 3) were really bummed. Buying popcorn there is definitely a difficult task in itself, so if you are not the first ones at the concession line, just know that they could run out and are not accommodating even when they have the products. If you have young kids, just plan to bring in outside snacks for them to make it an enjoyable experience. I know it's not allowed, but I would rather have illegal snacks to feed my hungry monsters than to deal with a concession stand that doesn't want to sell food. There are no signs that lets you know they are closed during the show to, so...
Read moreOur entire family thoroughly enjoyed our evening watching the talented performers in Newsies Jr. this past Saturday.
The Art Center is in an historic theater building, so the seating is as it was back in the day of small movie theaters. Small seats that don't recline with limited leg room. They were still comfortable enough to enjoy sitting for approximately 90 minutes and didn't take away from the performance.
It seemed everyone else there enjoyed the show and the atmosphere. The sound from our seats was good and the theater had good acoustics for it's size and age. The lighting was perfect and modern.
There is a small concession area that sold popcorn, candy, and drinks including beer and wine. I'm not sure if it is open or offers all those items during all performances.
After experiencing the performing arts center for the first time we all want to return to see future performances including musicals, plays, concerts, and their comedy nights. A wonderful evening at a...
Read moreI had the pleasure of seeing Matilda here today, it was the first time I've been. The entire cast was exceptional, they all did a great job of captivating the audience with a range of heartfelt and some comedic emotion. I throughly enjoyed myself, and not just because of my hot date! Honestly the cast far exceeded my expectations, and I encourage everyone to go, I may be back to see Matilda again with my 13 year old, and a couple other younger relatives! When I saw the seating chart online I was thinking the venue was smaller than it was. In my opinion it's the perfect size for an intimate feel, and definitely not too small like I was initially thinking! Due to current county/state laws there are some restrictions but I say don't let that deter you from a wonderful fun experience! If you're into enjoying an adult beverage or snack that's available for purchase before or during intermission. I'm exited to be back to this venue many times in...
