Gutierrez Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Moorpark

Ok. Normally when I have nothing positive to say I keep it zipped. However, my first and last visit must be mentioned.

I ordered a simple lunch of 2 tacos, pollo and al pastor. The chicken was perhaps days old. It was very dry and flavorless. I was surprised at this as there is a lot of chicken on the menu. The pastor was a c-minus effort. The plate my meal was served on had a dollop of guacamole on the underside. It was just dirty. My buddy got a 16 dollar burrito. Yikes! It was very gristly, dry and flavorless asada.

A half hour later we both felt a bit queasy.

Now this is a good taco place! Will absolutely bey go to place from now on. We tried a bunch of their tacos. Chicken, asada, carnitas, birria, and al pastor.

The pastor and carnitas were by far my favorite (always are) but this place didn't let me down. The asada was fantastic, I haven't had good asada in a while so that's definitely worth having. Birria was great, but we both thought the chicken was quite dry.

Update to say: still just as good. We love their al pasto meat. Our little brother liked the carnitas a lot.
