Alux Cocina + Mixologia — Restaurant in Moreno Valley

I had date night last night at this establishment and I have to say I have never ever in my life walked away from a restaurant feeling as horrible and humiliated as my boyfriend and I did for date night. The aesthetics of the restaurant are nice. We had a reservation for 2 at 7 pm. Upon arrival we were informed that there would be a 15$ per head cover charge for the band that would be performing at 9pm which we weren’t concerned with because its date night. We figure if we see them cool if not we really just came for dinner anyway but what’s 30$ extra dollars for a show right. We were seated in a booth and proceeded to order our drinks and an appetizer. While waiting we wanted to switch table so that we could have a better view and a man who introduced himself as a partial owner approved and encouraged us to go ahead and move our table as it was not busy or packed whatsoever… keep in mind it’s a Thursday night. An hour an a half goes by and we still don’t have our drinks nor do we have our appetizer, but now we are being reminded multiple times that we’re going to be charged for the band… Still no food or drinks but other ppl around us that came in after us definitely are receiving there orders. A lady comes by to let us know that there’s bottle service specials and was very pushy about us purchasing them and also told us that if we weren’t purchasing it we needed to move back to the booth we came from…. Mind you guys it’s not busy and there’s tables around us in this same area that are not in use. So I asked were we the only ones being forced to move or is everyone in this establishment getting bottle service too she proceeds to lie and say yes every single table here paid for bottle serves. I truly knew in my heart she was lying and it didn’t feel good as the only ppl of color and the only table to be force to move or forced to buy bottle service. I then told her that it’s been almost two hours and we still don’t have anything on our table but her only concern was to remove us or swindle us into the bottle service so we bought the bottle service. Only then Were we given our appetizer. They then came to tell us that they were sold out of the bottle of don julio 70 and that they would upgrade us to a bottle of 1800….! At this point I just need a drink so I no longer care because I’m watching everyone else get a different service than we did. They finally bring our food out two hours later and we had to send it back due to needing some adjustments. When we received it back it was missing items that we had to constantly ask for at least 4 times and never received it including the sauce that comes with the steak. We got our bottle service and to my surprise only one other table received it so she definitely lied about it and was forceful and to make matters worst guess what bottle they got ???? Don Julio 70 … this party came in after us so we should have received the bottle they forced us to purchase. At this point it definitely felt racially uncomfortable and I asked for the check. We get the check they over charged us for the bottle that they said would be priced at the don Julio price for the inconvenience…. And to be honest I’m not sure what else we got charged for because I was just so humiliated and ready to go…. Our bill for 1 appetizer 20$ a ribeye meal 40$ and a 30$ plus the forced bottle service came to a total of 420$ …. I was so disappointed we just paid and left…. We had to ask for a bag for our Togo items because I’m not gonna lie the treatment and the service was so horrible we didn’t even eat our food…. All we wanted to do was have a great date night and support a local restaurant and support a nice band…. We left there with a horrible taste in our mouth and it wasn’t the food to be honest. Even our waiter apologized to us because he knew what happened and I told him unfortunately we will never set foot in here again…. I don’t even take the time to write reviews but I felt so badly about what happened last night I had to share ….they completely ruined date night smh I will never...

Walked in on a Friday at about 3:00 p.m. ordered Tabla Alux and one appetizer. Before my party of three, there were only 3 other tables being served. The appetizer we ordered was Tostaditas de ceviche de Camearon. The appetizer was good, but the plates that they give you to serve yourself with we're about the size of the small tostadas, which was about five inches in diameter. No matter how hard you try, stuff is gonna fall off and not land on your plate. Drinks took forever to get to the table. As far as the main dish, which was the steak and chicken with three sides. We received no spoons, just one fork, one knife per person. Extremely difficult to serve yourself Rice off the board with no spoon. The food took long, considering the circumstances and when it arrived, the meats were cold. The waiter young male seemed inexperienced. The chicken was good, but the steak was lacking flavor. It was the equivalent of a piece of carnesada in a backyard barbecue. At one point, the waiter asked everything, okay, as I was taking the last zip of my first and only corona. My reply was yes, but my thoughts were. You could have offered additional drinks. We never did get any refills. Total for party of 3, one of which was a child $136.00 before tip. I love good restaurants, and I love good food and I don't mind paying over two hundred plus when it is worth it with absolutely no complaints. This place looks like it's more focused on the atmosphere and looks rather than the service and quality of the food. On our way out, the host, which was standing in the same spot, the entire time we were there, did not even say goodbye. Have a nice day. Thank you for coming. Overall, I definitely will not...

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! -REAL REVIEW- BEWARE!!!! We had a reservation and waited an hour which was okay but then we got seated and did not have enough seats for our party, we told them exactly how many people were in our party we did not arrive with extra people. Then finally after 20 mins they brought an extra small table. Then we were told any food would take over an hour because they are busy and the server told us “we have other tables to serve and we’re busy so I’m just letting you know” he was almost trying to discourage us from staying. We said that was fine and stayed. Then another waiter came and said we have to order appetizers now or else we will not have any, so we did we ordered appetizers and drinks, almost TWO HOURS LATER we did not receive our drinks or appetizers. This was such a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!! It was a friends birthday and it was completely ruined!!!! We canceled all of our orders and the waiter said “don’t worry you guys don’t have to pay.” Pay for what?!?! WE NEVER RECEIVED ANYTHING!!!! Not even our drinks just water!!!! It was beyond upsetting!!!! We even spoke to the owner who said don’t worry we’ll get to you, we left at 11 and got there at 8, THREE HOURS LATER!!! SUPER disappointed!!!! I will NEVER go there ever again!!! We kept looking around and none of other tables had food either we were not the only ones, everyone kept looking around in disbelief. It was literally horrible! The owner had his family and friends there and let me tell you they all had food and drinks, no one else did!!!! Literally ridiculous! I AM A REAL REVIEW!!...
