The Cupcake & Espresso Bar — Restaurant in Moreno Valley

Update: we still find this coffee shop to be on consistent on the flavor of their drinks, but seem to have found a couple drinks we gravitate to regularly and are really pleased with those drinks. However, their seasonal drinks tend to have the most issues, even when order 2 of the same drinks they can vary quite drastically from one another. But we do appreciate the service and the atmosphere very much. Some local coffee shops have a real hectic vibe but cupcake & espresso bar has a friendly chill vibe. I recommend the Spanish latte and the salted caramel cold brew and for a treat the pop tarts are fantastic.

Edit: The inconsistency continues to plague them. Drinks are made differently by each barista. We will try a new drink and love it, only to order the same drink a day later and hate it. It's too bad. We still come here but find ourselves visiting a different local coffee house more often.

Original review: Our biggest irk about this place is their consistency on their espresso drinks. Sometimes the drinks are to die for and other times they have an overwhelmingly bitter burnt taste. I normally visit the one in Moreno valley. Which is great. I only recently found out about this one from that shop when I asked if they had another location with a drive thru.

I was so happy to find out this one was on the road I take to work.

My first few visits were okay. My drinks were not as tasty as they usually are at my usual spot but the drive thru service is fairly quick.

But recently I had a bad experience with their take out service.

I walked in with my daughter to get a cold brew coffee and a cupcake. Normally they'll hand you your pastry at the counter as you pay. I wasn't handed the cupcake so I figured I'd get it with my coffee.

Got my coffee and still, no cupcake. When I asked the employee that was making a drink, he told me to wait and someone else would help me.

No one ever came. I finally had to go to the register and ask for it. I don't know if that guy was new, but working in customer service myself, I usually tend to the customers needs right away not pawn them off on...

I use to love this place. Last few times hasn’t been that great. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and started eating it as we drove away. It was cold in the middle. I ended up throwing it out. I didn’t have time to go back. I had also ordered the pumpkin latte and it tasted awful. I normally love them so not sure if something was wrong with the milk. I decided to go back two weeks later and I ordered an iced coffee with soy milk. Typically I love it. The coffee was so bitter it did not taste good.
